2141 Surge 2.0 is a January 2011 Hero Factory set that was released in 2011. It includes Mark Surge's second variant, a blue hero with a sniper.

Description Edit

Surge 2.0 is an upgraded version of Mark Surge, using the 2.0 parts, including flexible limbs and ball-and-joint armour. He has a light green head and core and a sniper rifle, made from three pieces; a gun piece, a multi-tool brick, and a blue laser blade also used to make LEGO Star Wars lightsaber beams. The sniper is held in two hands, and can only be used sideways when held correctly. He wears a white Ordeal of Fire badge on his left upper arm, and for his headgear, he has a heat-sensor over one eye and a communicator next to his mouth. The secondary armour colour is white.

Background Edit

Surge 2.0 operates as a sniper in the new Hero Factory teams. Formerly a rookie, Surge was promoted to a fully-fledged Hero following the battles with Von Nebula. When the Heroes responded to the Fire Villain's attack on Tanker Station 22, Surge voluntarily distracted the Fire Villains so that the other Heroes and workers could escape. Later on, he drives something into Fire Lord, stopping his consumption of Hero Dropship fuel and allowing the other Heroes to defeat the villain. When the victorious Heroes return to Hero Factory, Surge receives the 2.0 upgrade.

Notes Edit

• Surge is not seen in the late 2011 Hero Factory 3.0 wave.
• He is the only hero to miss out on the 2.0 upgrade until after the Ordeal of Fire mission.
• Several BIONICLE sets use laser beams like Surge, an example being Toa Nuparu with a red laser blade.
