4706 Forbidden Corridor is a 238 piece Harry Potter set released in 2001. It depicts the scene in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in which Harry, Ron, and Hermione must complete a series of tasks to find the Philosopher's Stone, specifically the first two. There are two other sets which represent tasks; 4704 The Chamber of Winged Keys and 4702 The Final Challenge. These sets can be played with alone or combined to recreate the series of chambers from the movie.

Description

The Set

Forbidden Corridor set contains the Third Floor and the first room leading to the Philospher's Stone. The set is hinged for playability. On the top level is the entrance to the Trapdoor Room, where Fluffy guards the trapdoor. The set also comes with a flute so as to put Fluffy asleep. Falling through the trapdoor triggers branches of the deadly Devil's Snare, where two green, large plant pieces can close together to hold a minifigure. A red lever on the side releases the plant jaws. The idea is to have Harry, Ron, and Hermione go into the room, go through the trapdoor and make their way out of the Devil's Snare.

The set is designed to fit between 4712 Troll on the Loose and 4704 The Chamber of Winged Keys.

Minifigures

Minifigures included are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. Hermione's blue flames are meant to represent Bluebell Flames, which she uses in the book to repel the Devil's Snare.
