Description
Edit
The Viking fortress consists of an octagonal palisade with a huge gate at the front and a large dragon cage opposite to it. Atop of the cage is big rotatable catapult. On top of the palisade walls are two small towers with smaller catapults mounted on 4x4 turntables.
The gate is made of LEGO plates instead of dedicated gate pieces. The large catapult shoots metallic-colored rocks.
The two dragons are custom models which don't appear elsewhere. They both have four legs and wings and largely consist of TECHNIC and BIONICLE pieces. The head piece of the bigger dragon only appeared in other sets of Vikings (also as dragon heads) and as an ornament in 8823 Mistlands Tower.
Notes
Edit
- In Norse mythology, Fafnir was originally a dwarf, whose greed turned him into a dragon that hoarded the gold that he and his brother had stolen from their father after killing him. He was later killed by Sigurd.
- This is the largest Vikings set released.
