The design idea for this set seems to be basis for a revival in the 2010 released 7937 Train Station.
7777 LEGO Trains Idea Book features an expanded version of the station, using a twin track layout - the overbridge is widened accordingly although its basic design remains the same. Although the second platform is carried over unmodified, the main station building is substantially different.
