7866 Remote Controlled Road Crossing 12V is a Trains set released in 1983. It contains 191 pieces to construct a railroad crossing and a minifigure.

Description[]

The set uses the same point motor modules as used in the sets 7862 / 7863 / 7858 and 7589 to operate the road barriers. The wiring in order to make the set work properly is somewhat complicated, with an electronic flasher unit which attaches onto the remote control to operate the flashing lights.

7866 remains one of the rarest, and consequently most valuable of all 12V Trains sets, largely as a result of many bespoke elements such as the red lighting bricks and 5082 Flashlight Unit 12V flasher unit module which were not used in any other set.
