8297 Off Roader is a TECHNIC set released in 2008. It contains an off road truck made mainly of TECHNIC pieces, a Power Functions battery box, a motor, a switch, and lights that cause the headlights to light up, extend or retract the motorized winch on the front of the truck or raise and lower the height of the suspension. The set can be rebuilt into a buggy using instructions downloaded from LEGO.com.

The Off Roader is loosely based on many off road vehicles, most notably the Jeep Wrangler.
