|Team GB Minifigures|
8909 Team GB Minifigures (Team Great Britain) is a special series of collectible minifigures that was released for the London 2012 Olympic Games. It features nine athlete minifigures in Team GB sports gear. They were only released in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Like all past series of Minifigures, each box contains sixty packets, all of which are sold in stores separately. The packets are opaque so purchasers do not know which minifigure they have bought, and are primarily white, with a red and blue Team GB design featured. Instead of the usual sixteen unique minifigures in the series, there are only nine, each of them being designs of athletes in Team GB uniforms. Every minifigure in the series has two accessories in common- a white stand with blue printing, featuring the Olympic rings and the Team GB logo, and a gold medal with a red ribbon, a piece which was first seen on the Swimming Champion minifigure from 8831 Minifigures Series 7. These minifigures have been released and are available in stores only in the United Kingdom. Most accessories for the minifigures are present in past series of Minifigures, except in a different colour. There is one piece of a new mould in the series- the combined helmet and hair piece worn by the Horseback Rider, which has since been reused in the Friends theme.
- These are the first licensed minifigures to have yellow skin in some years.
- This series did not featured in LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia which is counted as special series.
