9473 The Mines of Moria is a The Lord of the Rings set to be released in June 2012. This set includes the door to the tomb which opens and closes, the well, which can knock a skeleton into it, Balin's tomb, with a skeleton inside, and a wall, with a collapsing pillar. Weapons litter the floor. These include: A two-piece axe with a bronze head, two Heroica knives, a Heroica bow and arrow, a Heroica axe, a Heroica wand, a Heroica staff and a Heroica sword.

Background

The set is the Chamber of Mazarbul, which contains the tomb of Balin, in the Dwarven kingdom of Khazad-dum (also called the Mines of Moria). After their journey across the pass of Caradhas was halted by Saruman conjuring storms, the Fellowship took a detour through the Mines of Moria. They then headed through Khazad-dum, discovering inside Balin's tomb that the Dwarven population had been killed by the invading Moria goblins. Pippin then inadvertently alerted them to their presence by knocking a skeleton into a well.
