Boats
From Brickipedia, the LEGO Wiki.
Boats was a theme introduced in 1973 and ran until 1996. The thing that made these sets different from other town sets was the fact that they really did float in water. The hull was a single piece of plastic that had a depression in the interior for a weight to be inserted.
The Boat theme included boats from the Police, Freight, Fire, Rescue, and Town themes.
After 1996, float boat was no longer under Boats theme. It appeared in City, City (4 Plus), Pirates (4 Plus) and Harry Potter sets. An accessory motor was introduced to drive some boats.
