CrystAlien Conflict crystalien conflict is an online strategy game in the fun zone section of the mars mission site, part of lego.com. It is a game where you can command either the alien or astro forces to victory, each faction with the 9 missions, a conflict mode (all-out war) and special ops, a collection of supremely difficult missions. There are also bonus missions which can be accessed through a cheat code.

Players can build structures, and create forces, and command them to attack the opponent. You start off with just the main base: the Eagle Command Base for humans, and the Alien Mothership for aliens. You can then start by building power plants or energy generators. This provides you with energy. There are also other structures, such as a training centre for infantry (training camp, or breeding pit), a defence cannon (defence station, assault turret), a vehicle factory, a sonar or radar station, a technology centre and a satellite. Constructing one of these buildings will unlock the next in line.

Your army becomes available once you have built the necessary buildings: infantry and engineers come with building a training base, the vehicles come when the vehicle factory is built. The Astro-fighters come when the Sonar or Radar station is up and running. The last building, the satellite or orbital uplink, provides you with a powerful bombardment, costing 3000 credits, which you receive through mining crystals.

All the pieces of your army are different. The have different amounts of health, and some have special abilites. The Recon Dropship and the 'Hyper Carrier' have space for several infantry to board them, and they can release them where ever needed (except on acid pools). With a maximum of two Recon Dropships or Hyper Carriers on the field at once, it is enough to carry all a player's soldiers and engineers. Engineers, or saboteurs, as they are called in alien form, can fix various vehicles and buildings, or hijack opponent structures, such as turrets or factories. A amusing affect which comes with this is that a player can then create opponent pieces if you have captured one of their battle foundries, for example.

In a few missions, you do not have a mothership or home base, and therefore cannot create new pieces. Or sometimes you are restricted to constructing a set amount of pieces. However building your army by yourself is not the only way to improve your attack. Often on the field, there are alien capsules, or human crates. Running a vehicle over them and collecting them often gives you rewards. The rewards range extra money, or a free piece. In a few levels, this is the only way you can build your army up.

A surprising amount of sets are available in the game, making the thrill of playing it even better. Here is a list of all known: Astronaut with gun Alien with shooting staff pole shaft thingy Armoured Mining Unit Crystal Extractor(The alien ship that comes with the Recon Dropship) Eagle Command Base Alien Mothership Astro-Fighter Strike Fighter(The alien ship from ETX Alien Strike) Foam Cannon(appears in game as 'Defence Station') Alien Speeder Trike Claw-Tank 'Dragon Cruiser' (Basically the detachable front half of the ETX Alien Mothership) Alien Commander Crystal Reaper Switch Fighter Alien Infiltrator Recon Dropship 'Hyper Carrier' (On the game it closely resembles a Strike fighter in 'stealth mode') 'Power Plant' (The small structure for slamming on to to pressurize the tube system in the set MB-01 Eagle Command Base and the Alien Mothership) Jetpack Explorer 'Viper Attack' (The two wing parts with alien minifigs attached underneath on the ETX Alien Mothership) Ultra Drill Walker Hypersonic Ops Aircraft (Appears as a base in a astro special ops mission) Alien Hive (Though this is not actually a set, it appears in a astro special ops mission)

Like many other strategy games, this game has cheats. Underneath are useful codes, with their use listed next to them: fatwallet-50000 credits (do not keep entering this on the hope that you will get more; it only works once) quickbuild, or 299792458-builds faster fullscreen-fullscreen (the 4T2 Ion Disrupter and the EM Pulse Cannon are stronger and bombard a larger area) n00b or newbie-triple armour clearskies-shroud removed awesome-rapid fire beeblebrox-testmode (press 4 & 2 to get fps and something else) 1337-reset all codes None of the codes are case sensitive, as when the code is entered it appears in alien text, which has only one letter for each letter Level Passwords: Aliens: 1 Earth 2 Zapper 3 Extra 4 Retreat 5 Doctor 6 Scramble 7 Flow 8 Redalert 9 5050 10 Nightfall (Conflict Mode) Astros: 1 Mars 2 Powerup 3 Niceman 4 Buggy 5 Flyboy 6 Range 7 Stomp 8 Ufo 9 Elton 10 Eclipse (Conflict Mode) Bonus levels: manic-play as astros amaze-play as humans match-play as humans pizza-play as astros temple-play as aliens checkmate-play as aliens t200 or t2000 (on the web but neither works for me)- ??theylive?? the code to unlock alien ops, and at the clip during the beginning it clearly states it is 'Alien Ops', but on completion of this level, Alien Ops remains locked, and I cannot find another bonus level password on the internet to replace this. However, the alien spec ops code can be seen during the last mini movie of the final astronaut level. When the MX-81 Hypersonic Spacecraft lands, the code appears for a small second. Many lego club members have grasped a picture of the code but it remains hard to read.

It is the only deeply strategic game on the Lego website. It involves strategy, and skill, and with all its levels, it will take quite a while to unravel its mysteries. Go and have a shot at http://www.marsmission.lego.com/en-us/CrystalienConflict.aspx
