Teth-Adam was an Ancient Egyptian prince and the son of Pharaoh Ramessses II. His good deeds convinced the wizard Shazam to make him his champion and made him a superhero. However, Shazam's evil daughter Blaze made a deal with the Egyptian God of evil, Set, so that rather than drawing his powers from the wizard, Adam would draw them from Egyptian Gods. Blaze bewitched Adam, and he killed the Pharaoh and took the throne for himself. Shazam took back Adam's powers, dubbed him "Black Adam"*, and buried him in a tomb.
In the future, Black Adam was freed by an archaeologist who discovered his tomb. Black Adam set out to get his revenge on Shazam, but he was defeated by the wizard's new champion, Captain Marvel.
*I don't get this, in Ancient Egypt, black was the color of good. :P
