Ted Kord Edit
Ted Kord was an inventor, athlete, and a former student of Dan Garret, the first Blue Beetle. When Garret died, he passed on the Blue Beetle mantle to Kord, but was unable to give him the magical scarab which gave him his powers. Kord instead used gadgets.
Blue Beetle is one of the closest superheroes Batman has as a friend (others being Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Zatanna) and occasionally works with the Birds of Prey, since he has a crush on Barbara Gordon.
Jaime Rayes Edit
Jaime Rayes was a teenager who lived in El Paso, Texas with his family. When the wizard Shazam died (who gave Captain Marvel and Black Adam their powers), the magical scarab ended up in El Paso where Jaime discovered it. During his sleep, it fused to his spine, and gave him Dan Garret's powers: flight, enhanced strength and endurance, alien translation, and weapon forgery. He is a member of Teen Titans and is good friends with Robin.
