After the Venom symbiote was removed from Eddie Brock and he was put in jail, it found its way back to Eddie who was sharing a cell with the psychopath Cletus Kasady. Breaking out with Eddie, the symbiote leaves behind its spawn, the Carnage symbiote, which bonded with Cletus.
