An average test pilot, Hal Jordan witnessed an alien craft crash down on Earth. Rushing through the rubble, Jordan discovered Abin Sur, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Abin Sur told Jordan that the ring has chosen him to become his successor and to become the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Jordan accepted and became the new Green Lantern.
He is a member of the Justice League, which also consists of Batman, The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and on some occasions Nightwing, Batgirl, Shazam, Zatanna, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Hawkman, The Atom, Black Canary, and Huntress.
