Background
Edit
In Ancient Egypt, Chay-Ara lived under the reign of Ramesses II with her loved one, Prince Khufu. One day Khufu, the wizard Nabu, and Teth Adam discovered a Thangarian space ship that had just crash-landed. The pilot's dying words were "Nth Metal," the substance which powered the ship. Teth Adam took the ship back to Khufu's palace, and it was studied at the temple of Horus. Upon examination, the Egyptians discovered that the Nth Metal could defy gravity and was used to create several devices, such as a scarab which allowed Khufu to fly. The Nth metal also strengthened Khufu and Chay-Ara's souls, increased their love, and gave them a knowledge of Thangar. However, a villainous priest, Hath-Set, murdered them with a Nth Metal knife. The lovers were cursed so that they may not enter the afterlife and were reincarnated many times, always finding love in each other, until they would be murdered by Hath-Set's reincarnation and the cycle would restart.
Closer to modern day, Khufu was reborn as the archaeologist Carter Hall, Chay-Ara as Shiera Sanders, and Hath-Set as Anton Hastor. After discovering and touching the same Nth Metal knife used to kill Khufu, Carter recalled his past lives and realized Hastor for who he is. When Hastor kidnapped Shiera, Carter created a belt out of Nth Metal to fly and crafted a hawk-costume. As Hawkman, Carter rescued Shiera and Hastor was killed by electrocution. Carter and Shiera pursued a relationship, both became superheroes, Shiera calling herself Hawkgirl, and eventually married.
The two befriended their fellow superhero The Atom and joined the Justice League.
Designer's Notes
Edit
- Hawkwoman's head accessory is a combination of a Vladek's helmet (heavily modified), the Black Classic Spaceman's helmet, the normal racing hemet, my custom Batwoman mask, and Black Widow's hair.
- The Shiera Hall version of the character never actually uses the name "Hawkwoman". The minifigure is more based on the Shayera Hol version, who did use Hawkwoman. Anyway, I just didn't want to conflict with another user's custom page: (Hawkgirl). :P
