Roy Harper was an orphan who was raised on a Native American reservation after his father died. He was trained in and became skilled in archery, his inspiration being Green Arrow. Roy enrolled in an archery competition Green Arrow was judging, and amazed the hero that he could shoot even faster. He helped Green Arrow stop a robbery, and was given the name Speedy for being a quicker shot.
Much like Robin and Batman, Speedy and Arrow had a fallout. He then adopted the name Arsenal, and then Red Arrow, a lot of depressing things happened in his life, and he became more of an anti-hero.
