The Great Fire of London is set released under Lavertus's custom history theme that depicts historical events.

Description[]

The set contains an Elizebethan style house that is covered by flames and a minifigure with a fire axe. The set also contains a small USB stick containing historical sources and a book with information about the great fire.

Book contents[]

The Great Fire began on Sunday the 2nd September 1666 and eventually consumed 13,200 houses, 87 churches and ST Paul's cathedral. It began in the bakery of Thomas Farrinor on pudding lane and ended on Wednesday the 5th September. Surprisingly, there are only six recorded deaths caused by the fire however this is likely incorrect as the fire would have cremated remains beyond identification even as bodies. The fire was extinguished by the seventeenth century technique of creating fire breaks (using explosives to destroy a perimeter around the fire to prevent spread).
