Appearances

“No fight, no glory!” - Dwarves

The Dwarves are one of the factions of the Castle theme, and were introduced in 2008.

Description

Only three sets featuring the dwarves have been released so far, including a large mine, a battle machine and a battle pack. In all of these sets the dwarves are pitted against the Troll Warriors. A dwarf is also included as a prisoner in the set 7048 Troll Warship.

The dwarves' crest is similar to the one of the Crown Knights but includes their own version of a crown, a winged helmet, on blue background. The symbol is featured on round shields.

The Dwarf King, included in Dwarves' Mine and Giant Castle Chess Set, oversees the mine workshop in his mine fortress. He carries a golden chalice and a large red gem. He has a brown plaited beard and an ornate golden horned helmet.

Their weapons are battle axes that consist of two axe blades from the Vikings theme attached to a brown stick. Dwarven infantry have bronze or silver helmets with no wings or horns. Most of the infantry have beards in 2 seperate plaits, with pony-tails on the back. The elite warrior class share the same weapons as the infantry, the short axe and the buckler shield, but have beards in large, single masses, with plaits on both sides. Elites have horns on their helmets. Some Elites act as mechanics, operating the mechanical battle wagons with the razor blade and the heavy catapult. The miners all work at the mine complex, with pickaxes and torches.

Most dwarves have the same body armor and heads from the Vikings theme. In the Dwarves' Battle Pack, a barrel is included with a hammer and spade. A spade is also attatched to one of the supports on the conveyor belt on the mine.

What dwarves hate even more than trolls are dragons. Dragons love gold and sometimes take gold from the dwarven mines. This is a reason why the Dwarves hate dark wizards.

Dwarves are not actually under the rule of the king, but wear belts and chainmail shirts with the emblem of the Crown Knights. These were possibly given as a tribute for the Dwarves service.

Dwarves are small, but are strong and loyal.

  • Mispronounciation

    • Also, even if you were correct, spelling the plural of dwarf with and 'f' would be a misspelling, and not necessarily a mispronunciation.
    • My apologies, I had meant misspelling. I did not say it was Tolkien specific, just that "dwarfs was more generally accepted.
