4000007 Ole Kirk's House is a set released in December 2012. It is a replica of founder Ole Kirk Christiansen's house in Billund, Denmark, and it was given to LEGO employees as a Christmas present.

Background[]

Ole Kirk Christiansen was a Danish toymaker who started the LEGO company and was the first to invent the wooden LEGO toy as well as the plastic LEGO toy. The Ole Kirk Christiansen house, which is located on Hovedgaden street in Billund, Denmark, was the primary residence of Christiansen and was built in 1932. Christiansen built the first LEGO factory in Systemvej, right next to his house. It is known locally as the "Lion House" due to the stone lions in front of the door, and is now owned by the Ole Kirk Foundation and called the "LEGO Idea House."

Notes[]

  • The set was originally released to LEGO employees as a Christmas present. However, it was given to tourists attending the "Inside Tour."
