Redini, also referred to as The Amazing Redini Tah-Dahs,[1] was the LEGO Club mascot between 2002 and 2004. He appeared on LEGO.com and in the LEGO Magazine.

Description[]

Redini wears a bright red turban and has a basic smiling face. His turban also has a small blue gem placed in its pinhole. He is typically portrayed as a floating head, with mystical smoke coming from his neck; however, in one LEGO Magazine response, Redini has a bright red torso, arms, and hands.[2]

Background[]

Redini answered questions from LEGO fans in the LEGO Club magazine and website, making his debut after LEGO Mania Magazine was rebranded as LEGO Magazine in May 2002. He started as a floating head at LEGO.com doing odd jobs, before answering questions online landed him a job working for LEGO Magazine.[2] He answers questions by magical means, including gazing into his crystal ball, traveling through time, and asking mystic oracles,[3] and his serious responses are often interlaced with humorous jokes.

Although he is named Redini Tah-Dahs on LEGO.com,[1] he says in LEGO Magazine that his first name and his last name are both Redini since his parents were not very imaginative.[4] He has three brothers, named Fredini, Eddini, and Jedini.[5] Redini's physician is Dr. Clickitt, who has advised him not to drink so much cappuccino.[6]

Redini did not appear in the magazines released between May 2003 and November 2003. He returned for the January-February 2004 issue, explaining that he had taken some time to find himself, but since his body is still missing, he returned to LEGO Club to find it.[7] However, the July-August 2004 issue marked Redini's final appearance in LEGO Magazine.

Notes[]

  • In LEGO Magazine, Redini's responses were written by chief editor Greg Farshtey. Farshtey also wrote some, but not all, of Redini's responses on LEGO.com.[8][9]
  • In the LEGO Media International Lead Families Development document, the Tah-Dahs family consists of skilled magicians.[10]
