Beorn

Beorn is what’s known in Middle Earth as a skin-changer, with the ability to shapeshift into a huge black bear. Beorn loves the animals near his home in the Misty Mountains and won’t hunt or eat any wild animals. A strong and trustworthy warrior, Beorn temporarily joins The Company and helps them make the journey safely into Mirkwood.

Appearances[]

Video Game Appearances[]

Notes[]

  • His head and his hairpiece are both one piece.
  • He is tall as a standard minifigure, while in the movie he is taller than a normal man.
  • Beorn’s sole set appearance has him appear at Dol Guldur, which does not occur in either the novel or film versions of The Hobbit. At one point, the films’ plot would have seen Beorn imprisoned there before escaping thanks to the arrival of the White Council, but this was abandoned in the finished films.[1]
