Max Axel is the main, and only playable, character in the Drome Racers video game.

Max is a skilled driver and is the leader of Team Nitro. His teammates and friends Shicane, Slot, and Rocket help him out by upgrading the current Nitro vehicle and giving advice.
Despite being the principal character of the game, Max is never seen in person.

Lead Driver - Nitro Team Max Axel is one of the Drome's newest drivers, having just joined Nitro Team this season. Like the rest of his team, Max achieves success by bending the rules and taking risks. Many other new Racers wish to join Nitro, because Max seems like the Drome's newest rising star -- but it remains to be seen if someday Max will take one chance too many and leave Nitro without a leader. The Drome has begun keeping an extensive file on Max, possibly for future involvement with -- but you are not cleared for further information, Racer. Max also frontlined the LEGO Racers 4D Movie in 2002 at LEGOLAND parks worldwide, and was the main character in the Racers Official Racing Programme, a companion series of comic books accompanying the Racers theme during the 2002 run.
