7186 Watto's Junkyard is a Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace set released in 2001. It includes two podracers, Watto, and Aldar Beedo. It has 446 pieces.

Description[]

This set is based on Watto's scrap dealership on Tatooine and includes Aldar Beedo's Podracer, along with parts for another character's Podracer, Mawhonic's. Included are Watto and Aldar Beedo Minifigures. There are two podracers in the set, one blue and the other green. The green one is like the one that Sebulba causes to crash in Episode I: The Phantom Menace. It has a big engine with a little engine to the side. There are two ropes that hold the body to the engines. The blue racer has two rectangular engines with flaps on the side and big wheels on the back. The pod is connected onto the engines by ropes and a base. The pod has two sloping sides.

Background[]

In Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Watto, a junk dealer who is also Anakin's slave master sells parts in his junkyard, including parts that can be used for podracers.

Notes[]

  • This version of Aldar Beedo is exclusive to this set.
  • This is the first Lego set to include Watto.
  • There are only enough pieces provided in this set to fully build either Watto's Junk Shop or the tan-colored framework for a second podracer, but not both. The box art as well as the instructions included with this set suggest building Aldar Beedo's podracer and Watto's Junk Shop while leaving parts of Mawhonic's podracer around Watto's Junkyard as "junk".
  • Although Mawhonic's podracer is included in this set, Mawhonic himself is not included and has never been created in LEGO form. LEGO would not produce a character from the Gran species until 2013 with the inclusion of Ree-Yees in 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge.
