Pilot Episodes (10 Episodes)
- “Long before time had a name, Ninjago was created by the First Spinjitzu Master using the four weapons of Spinjitzu: The Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, and the Sword of Fire. Weapons so powerful, no one can handle all their power at once. When he passed away, his two sons swore to protect them. But the oldest was consumed by darkness, and wanted to possess the weapons. A battle between brothers broke out, and the oldest was struck down and banished to the underworld. Peace returned, and the younger brother hid the weapons. But knowing his older brother's relentless ambition for power, he placed a guardian to protect them. And for fear of his own demise, a map for an honest man to hide.”
- ―Sensei Wu to Kai in "Way of the Ninja"
"Way of the Ninja"
The episode opens with Kai and Nya working in their family blacksmith shop, 'Four Weapons’, after their father's recent death. The two are approached by Sensei Wu, who shows disdain for the weapons they make, saying they are useless in the art of stealth, and are no weapons for a Ninja. Kai drives him off, who in turn disappears when Kai turns his back. Moments later, a dark cloud appears over the village, catching the eye of the local villagers and farmers. On the edge of the hill, a large vehicle (the Skull Truck) appears along with a group of motorcycles, all of which have Skeletons on board, notably Nuckal, Kruncha, and Samukai. The Skeletons begin to attack in search of a map to the Golden Weapons, causing the villagers to flee in terror. Kai dons a set of hand-crafted samurai armour, a helmet, and arms himself with a sword, before engaging the Skeletons in battle. Nya disobeys Kai's order to stay back, and begins attacking skeletons. Kai is nearly killed by Samukai after a water tower falls on him, but he was saved by Sensei Wu, who reappears just in time. Nya, meanwhile, is snagged by a skull grappling hook, and kidnapped under the orders of someone named ‘Lord Garmadon’.Wu tells Kai the story of Ninjago, finishing by telling him that Kai's father was given a map made by Sensei Wu to hide the Golden Weapons from Garmadon, Wu's older brother. Realising that Garmadon has struck a deal with Samukai, (former) King of the Underworld, Wu asks Kai to join him in his battle against Garmadon as the Ninja of Fire. Kai at first refuses to get involved, but finally joins Wu after realising that he won't stand a chance of rescuing Nya without Spinjitzu, which Sensei Wu promises to teach.Kai begins to train in Sensei Wu's Monastery, by completing an obstacle course. When he completes the course and asks for his Spinjitzu training, Wu simply says that he has already learned Spinjitzu, and that his final test will come.
¨The Golden Weapon¨
While Kai is brushing this teeth he is attacked by three mysterious Ninja.A battle between Kai and the Ninja causes him to be thrown out onto the training grounds. Kai activates the training course and the obstacles disarm the attackers, beginning an unarmed fight.Moments later, Sensei Wu stops the fight, revealing that the three are his other students. Wu then uses Spinjitzu to transform their black suits into different coloured outfits, reflecting the elements that they will possess. The four are introduced to each other: Cole, the Black Ninja of Earth, who is solid as rock, Jay, the Blue Ninja of Lightning, Zane, the White Ninja of Ice, seer with a sixth sense, and Kai, the Red Ninja of Fire. After they introduce themselves, Wu announces that the search for the Golden Weapons has begun. The first destination is the Caves of Despair, where Kai races off in hopes of finding Nya. Krazi spots him, and nearly raises alarm, but the three remaining Ninja disarm (and ‘rearrange’) him quietly and reunite with Kai, who has found the Map. After snatching the map from Samukai, the four then capture the weapon, but are they are confronted by Samukai and a whole legion of Skeletons. Jay (Ninjago) notices the enemies were similar to the training course, and after travelling through the motions Wu taught him, he manages to summon a tornado of energy corresponding with his element, finally performing Spinjitzu. The others follow, remembering the motions from the training course.Samukai and his army retreat, as they are unable to deal with the Ninja and their newfound abilities. Just as they are about to escape, the Earth Dragon, guardian of the Scythe of Quakes, appears behind them and attacks, believing them to be stealing it. In desperation, Kai uses the Scythe to create an opening that they escape from, despite Wu's instruction not to use the weapon's power, as no mortal is powerful enough to wield it. A rift appears in the cave ceiling, with the falling rocks partly covering the dragon, leaving it unable to stop the Ninja from escaping using Spinjitzu. Though triumphant, Wu is angry at Kai for using the weapon regardless of his warnings. The episode ends with Samukai addressing his dark master, who has not yet been shown, telling him that he has failed. With a laugh, however, the shadow speaks that everything is going according to plan.
"King of Shadows"
As the Ninja are heading to the Shurikens of Ice, Sensei Wu tells them of the most powerful move in Spinjitzu: the Tornado of Creation. Kai attempts it, with a warning from Wu that if done incorrectly, it will lead to disastrous consequences. The boat arrives, crashing into the island and knocking them down, causing Kai to mistake the crash for his own doing with the Tornado of Creation, however Sensei Wu tells him otherwise as they embark onto the Frozen Plains.Zane is frozen when he makes contact with the Shurikens, and is used as a toboggan for the other three to escape from the Ice Dragon. Later, at the Floating Ruins, it is discovered that they are being followed by Samukai, who now has full knowledge of Lord Garmadon's plan. Using one of Jay (Ninjago)'s more useful inventions, the four escape from the Lightning Dragon with the Nunchucks of Lightning.Using Jay's invention, coupled with the high altitude from the Floating Ruins, the Ninja are able to fly all the way to the Forest of Tranquility, the location of the Sword of Fire. After a campfire party, followed by bedtime beside the embers, Kai is awoken by none other than Nya! She runs away, and Kai chases her through the forest, entering the Fire Temple.Nya runs onto a platform and transforms into a giant black shadow, having only been an illusion made by Lord Garmadon to deceive Kai into entering the Fire Temple to steal him the Sword of Fire, as in his shadow form he cannot touch it. He exploits the fact that Kai had forgotten his sword, and reveals that the real Nya is hanging from chains above the lava. Garmadon tells him the only way to cut the chains to save Nya is to pull the Sword of Fire out of its rock. Kai obtains the sword, cuts Nya free and is then confronted by Garmadon's shadows, which he cannot harm. Wu arrives and attempts to save them, but Lord Garmadon awakens the Fire Dragon, who believes them to be stealing the Sword of Fire. Sensei Wu then decides to make a sacrifice and take the Sword of Fire with him to the Underworld. Kai tries to tell Wu that is was his fault and his sacrifice to make, as he blames himself for going after "Nya" alone, but it is too late. Meanwhile, Lord Garmadon travels to the forest, where the Skeletons have tied Cole, Jay and Zane to a tree and tells Samukai and his army to return to the Underworld to unite the weapons before it's too late. Jay grabs Nuckal's sword and is able to cut the rope and release them just as the skeletons are leaving. The three Ninja begin to chase the Skeletons’ convoy and regain the Golden Weapons, but are, however, struck with difficulty slowing down the Skull Truck. As the Ninja find out, when the vehicles travel fast enough, they can create portals to the Underworld and escape. Because of the Skull Truck's massive size, it must go faster than the Skull Motorbikes and Turbo Shredders to make the crossing. The driver tries to get the truck up to speed, but is slowed down by Cole. Jay attempts to retrieve the Golden Weapons by breaking the lock with his fist, only to realise the reason that keys were made. Jay is then accidentally hit by Cole’s scythe, losing his voice. Zane attempts to take control of the driving seat, but Samukai is already there. Tossing Bonezai aside, he grabs the wheel and floors the pedal, throwing Zane, Cole, and Jay off and onto the road. The truck is able to make the crossing to the Underworld, just before it would have hit a stone wall.
¨Weapons Of Destiny¨
Sensei Wu awakes in the Underworld, his journey having knocked him out and begins to search for Lord Garmadon.Zane, Cole, and Jay arrive at the Fire Temple, but Zane's sixth sense tells them that all four weapons are now in the Underworld, and that Kai and Wu have failed. Cole admits with a sigh that they have been defeated, and that there's no way now to regain control of the weapons. He is proven wrong in several moments, as Kai and Nya appear aback the Fire Dragon, whom now fully understands the situation and conveniently, has the ability to cross over to the Underworld.Cole points out that there's no way for all of them to fit on the one dragon but Kai, or rather the Fire Dragon, has a solution, calling to the other three Elemental Dragons with an almighty roar. The dragons pass to the Underworld, and the four Ninja attempt to silently sneak into Garmadon's Fortress. Swinging from stalactites, the Ninja are close to their goal when Jay, still speechless, notices that they are actually hanging from the legs of Bone Spiders. Unable to receive his warning, the four plummet to the ground, where Nuckal raises the Ninja Alarm (but not before asking if the plural of ninja was ‘ninja’, or ‘ninjas’). Jay is able to gain usage of his voice back in time to remind the others of the Tornado of Creation, which they successfully attempt, turning the fortress into a caged Ferris wheel, entrapping the Skeletons inside it. Meanwhile, in Lord Garmadon's throne room, Sensei Wu has used the Sword of Fire to destroy a group of skeletons, stating that Garmadon will have to take the Sword from him. Garmadon calls on Samukai, who now holds the Shurikens, Nunchucks, and the Scythe. The four Ninja arrive to witness the battle, but choose to let Wu fight Samukai on his own. Samukai defeats Sensei Wu and obtains the Sword. He turns on Garmadon, keeping all the power for himself, but is unable to contain all of the energy streaming through him. The weapons fuse and disintegrate Samukai, in the process opening a time portal that Garmadon jumps through and escapes the Underworld, but not before promising to one day wield all four weapons and use them to recreate the world in his image. Though Garmadon is gone, Wu sighs and states that he will one day return, and perhaps with the power to do as he pleases. The four Ninja pick up their Golden Weapons, with Kai reassuring Wu that "We'll be ready for him". They return on the dragons to the blacksmith shop and reunite with Nya, becoming heroes across Ninjago.
"Secrets of the Blacksmith"
Jay takes Nya back to the Four Weapons blacksmith shop on his dragon so she can pack as she is now moving in with the Ninja. She packs several weapons and puts a necklace on her arm. Then, Wyplash and three other Skeletons attack, only to be defeated with ease by Nya. Jay hears them fighting, and goes to see what’s wrong, only to see that Nya is alright and having her tell him that she just "Knocked down some Samurai helmets and stuff." They both get on the dragon to fly back to the monastery while Wyplash and the other three skeletons decide not to tell anyone what happened.
"Flight of the Dragon Ninja"
Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane decide to have a race with their dragons to earn the "Dragon Ninja" title. Jay thinks he will win since he won the last time they raced. At first, Zane is worried Sensei Wu might find out they are not training, but then Kai tells him riding their dragons is a type of training. The race then begins, with each Ninja using their dragons’ powers to their advantage but in the end Cole wins, but he is told by Kai that "We'll get you tomorrow", which upsets Cole because they didn't agree to have him Dragon Ninja for a month like Jay.
"The New Masters of Spinjitzu"
The episode begins showing Nuckal and Kruncha who are still on the Ferris wheel the Ninja made using the Tornado of Creation. Kruncha then comes up with the idea to steal the Golden Weapons so they can do Spinjitzu themselves. They use the Skull Truck to go to the monastery and once they are there, they sneak up on the Ninja while they are sleeping and steal the Golden Weapons. They were able to do Spinjitzu, but are unable to control it and ended up turning the training course on. Kai, then (not noticing the generals) turns off the training course and yells at Jay to fix it, who replies, "I'll do it tomorrow." Nuckal and Kruncha then decide to put the weapons back where they found them. The episode ends with the generals arguing over whose idea it was.
"An Underworldly Takeover"
Cole asks Sensei Wu how Lord Garmadon had control over the Skulkin, resulting in Wu telling him that he and Garmadon were friends before Garmadon’s fall. A flashback then shows Garmadon after he fell into the Underworld, with Samukai and his Skeletons closing in on him. Garmadon then fights Samukai and uses Spinjitzu to win, he then takes Samukai's helmet and claims the title "King of the Underworld". It is then revealed Wu doesn't know how Garmadon became their leader and then speculates that they "Talked it over a nice cup of tea."
"Return to the Fire Temple"
Flame takes Kai and Nya back to the Fire Temple to show them a secret entrance that leads to the Underworld, where Wyplash and Krazi (whose name is misspelled "Krazy" in the credits) along with four other Skeletons are standing guard. Krazi notices Kai and then tells Wyplash that "We've got company." Wyplash then tells the other four Skeletons to attack Kai while Krazi stays by his side. Kai uses the Sword of Fire to knock out the Skeletons’ axes, but he is picked up by the Skeletons and is unable to escape the grasp of the Skeletons, not even when using Spinjitzu. Flame then uses his fire breath to attack the Skeletons. The Skeletons then escape through the entrance which later becomes blocked off by boulders. Kruncha then blames Nuckal for "leaving the stove on" thinking that was the reason for the boulders.
"Battle Between Brothers"
Zane notices Sensei Wu's new kimono and tells him it is "Most extraordinary." Wu thanks Zane and tells him it has powers against evil and reminds him of the day Lord Garmadon was banished to the Underworld. There is then a flashback showing a younger Garmadon taking the weapons from their stands, with Wu walking in and telling him that the weapons are for display, but Garmadon replies, "Tell me, brother, what good is a weapon if all its used for is collecting dust?" Wu tells him not to be a fool, only for Garmadon to tell him their father was a fool. Wu and Garmadon then battle over the weapons, leading to Garmadon getting struck by lightning and falling into the Underworld after attempting to kill Wu. The flashback is over and in the present, Wu tells Zane that there were many years of peace after Garmadon's downfall.
Season 1 (13 Episodes)
- “"Long before time had a name, the first Spinjitzu master created Ninjago using four elemental weapons. But when he passed, a dark presence sought out to collect them all, Lord Garmadon. So I, Sensei Wu, his brother, sought out to find four ninja to collect them first.”
- ―Sensei Wu in "Rise of the Snakes"
Every episode began with a recap of the last one (except for the first one). After the recap, "The Weekend Whip" was played and the Ninja were shown with their names along with Sensei Wu and Nya. After the episode, "The Snake King", the Ninja were shown in their "ZX" outfits
"Rise of the Snakes"
Immediately continuing the story from where the first season left off, Sensei Wu implores the Ninja to start training again to prepare for his brother's return to Ninjago. But ever since Lord Garmadon’s escape, they have done nothing but play video games and waste time. Sensei lectures the four on "Not putting off until tomorrow what can be done today", saying that the four have not yet reached their full potential. The Ninja laugh, saying that they'll be ready when Lord Garmadon returns. Their meeting is then interrupted by Nya, bringing word that Garmadon was spotted in Jamonicai village, sending the Ninja into a state of panic. The out-of-shape Ninja then travel to Jamonicai village to stop Lord Garmadon, only to find the sighting to be false and Garmadon to be just his son, Lloyd Garmadon, who has escaped his boarding school for bad boys. Lloyd tries to terrorise the village to rob them of their candy, and threatens to release the "Serpentine" on the villagers, but instead is run out of town by the Ninja. Before returning to the Monastery, Kai discovers he has accidentally taken Sensei's bag in the rush, and finds a scroll that tells of the prophecy of Ninjago, ‘One Ninja will rise above the others and become the Green Ninja’. None of them are able to contain their excitement, boasting to the others that he will become the Green Ninja. All consumed by selfishness, they try to hold a tournament to find who is the best of them all, and thus become the Green Ninja. Unfortunately, the idea backfires when Kai's sword starts an elemental fire which cannot be put out. Sensei Wu arrives and uses the Shurikens of Ice to stop the fire, before explaining to the Ninja that they must continue their path to unlocking their full potential before any of them will become the Green Ninja. Meanwhile, Lloyd wanders the frozen wastelands of Ninjago, upset that his plans have gone awry. Mistakenly, he uncovers an ancient tomb containing a tribe of the real Serpentine known as the Hypnobrai. The Hypnobrai General, attempts to hypnotise Lloyd, but his short size causes the General to see himself in a reflection, hypnotising himself and allowing Lloyd take control of him. The tribe is now under Lloyd's control, who sends them to steal all the candy in Jamonicai Village. The Hypnobrai use their powers to hypnotise the villagers, bringing more power to Lloyd. Wu senses the presence of the Serpentine in Jamonicai Village and quickly alerts the Ninja, who rush to the village and are able defeat the Hypnobrai, forcing them to retreat. However, Skales, the second-in-command for the tribe, tries to hypnotise Cole before leaving town, forming a scheme to destroy the Ninja for revenge. But Nya comes to the rescue just in time. After stealing the Snake Staff, Nya uses the anti-venom inside it to cure the villagers. Later, Skales realises that he can see what Cole is seeing after his hypnotism.
At the Monastery, the others begin to notice Zane's odd behaviour, but Sensei Wu explains that Zane is the Ninja's brother, and like all brothers, he is different. After a mail delivery, Jay questions Zane on why he never receives any letters from his parents, to which Zane responds he had been an orphan all his life and never knew his family. Wu tells him the Monastery is now his home, and he and the Ninja are his family, but Zane only leaves sadly. In the meantime, at the Forest of Tranquility, Lloyd instructs the tribe to create a fortress to "rule" Ninjago from, where Skales and Rattla conspire the downfall of Slithraa, the current tribe leader. Later that night, when Zane goes outside to take out the trash from dinner, he finds a falcon that mimics his every move, and is compelled to follow it. He soon discovers Lloyd's treehouse fortress, and brings the others to help destroy it the next day. After analysing the structure, Kai points out that if they destroy all four ropes holding up the fort, it will crash down with the snakes inside it. The plan almost succeeds, but Skales enforces Cole's hypnotic spell, causing him to fight the Ninja and nearly bring the fort down with them on it. In the nick of time, though, Sensei and Nya arrive on Flame, Kai's dragon, while Sensei plays a flute that breaks Skales’ spell, allowing Cole to resume control over himself. After rescuing them and destroying the fort, Wu explains the flute is as old as the Serpentine themselves, and is also sacred, as it will play a large role in the Serpentine's downfall. After returning to the Monastery, they find the entire building demolished and burned to a crisp, causing the ninja to turn on Zane and blame him for the destruction their home. When they go to apologise, however, they find Zane leaving on his dragon, Shard. Later that evening, Zane returns and explains he was following the falcon, which led him to the Destiny's Bounty, a century-old shipwreck that becomes the Ninja's new home. Meanwhile, at the Hypnobrai tomb, Skales challenges Slithraa to a fight in the Slither Pit for command of the tribe, which Skales wins. Now in control of the Hypnobrai, he banishes Lloyd, demanding he never return. He leaves, but not before he steals a map to the other tribes’ tombs before he exits, and plans yet another act of vengeance.
After leaving the Hypnobrai tribe, Lloyd uses his stolen map to find the Fangpyre tribe's tomb, where he offers an alliance to get revenge on the Hypnobrai and the Ninja. Fangtom, the tribe General, agrees, but first plans on building up his army by using his tribe’s venomous snake bite to transform anything into snakes. Meanwhile, Jay's parents, Ed and Edna arrive at the ship to visit, much to Jay's annoyance. After being embarrassed multiple times by his mother, Jay promises to visit and ushers his parents back to their junkyard, where they are assaulted by the Fangpyre and given the venomous snake bite while the others infect vehicles in the yard to their own evil use. The next day, Jay keeps his promise to his father and visits the junkyard with the other on foot, as the Ninja's dragons migrated east to begin a transformation in their stage of life. When they arrive, the place is quiet, which worries Jay, since his parents are apparently "never quiet". He finds Ed and Edna locked in a refrigerator with their transformation to snakes having begun. Meanwhile, the Fangpyre fight off the Ninja, Wu explains the only to change Jay's parents back is to get the anti-venom from the staff, but the Fangpyre begin to retreat, carrying the staff with them. After discovering their weapons have the ability to transform to vehicles, Jay uses his Storm Fighter plane to steal the Snake Staff from the Rattlecopter, which makes the Fangpyre follow the ninja back to Destiny's Bounty. While there, Nya creates the anti-venom and accidentally loses the staff, and Ed fixes the "defence system" Jay was working on earlier in the episode, allowing them to take flight and escape from the Fangpyre.
"Never Trust a Snake"
Zane has a dream about the green ninja fighting Lord Garmadon and then tells the other ninja about it during training. Sensei Wu then gives the ninja a riddle to solve: "What is the best way to defeat an enemy?" Meanwhile Lloyd Garmadon and the Fangpyre prepare to attack the Hypnobrai. However, Skales and Fangtom turn out to be friends and betray Lloyd. The ninja continue training and Sensei Wu checks up on them to see if they have found the answer to the riddle. Kai says it is "to train", but Sensei answers that he is wrong and orders them to continue to train. Lloyd then finds the tomb of the Anacondrai and frees Pythor P. Chumsworth. They then create havoc around Ninjago and return to the Anacondrai tomb with a bounty of sweets. Together they then take over the Boarding School for Bad Boys that kicked Lloyd out. The Ninja then arrive to stop them, and they free the tied-up school students. They also find Kruncha and Nuckal tied up in the same room, Cole agrees to free them if they promise to leave Ninjago. Pythor and Lloyd are cornered on the roof and Pythor betrays Lloyd by stealing the map to find the other tribes and abandoning him. Jay then takes Lloyd to Sensei while Cole, Kai and Zane discuss his punishment. Later, Sensei reads Lloyd a bed time story about why you should never trust a snake and Lloyd then falls asleep. The ninja are confused and ask Sensei about it and Sensei reveals the answer to the riddle is: "To make them your friend".
"Can Of Worms"
Lloyd Garmadon plays tricks on the ninja by order of Sensei Wu to teach the ninja about the destructive power of rumours. Zane's outfit is mixed in with Kai's when washing them and is turned pink as one of the tricks. Sensei tells them one of the reasons he told Lloyd to do this was because he couldn't find his lesson book, Kai later finds the lesson book in Lloyd's pocket. Nya then tells them the location of the Constrictai and Venomari tombs. They then split up into two teams, Kai with Jay to find the Venomari Tomb and Zane with Cole to find the Constrictai Tomb to stop Pythor P. Chumsworth from releasing. However they are too late and Cole and Zane fall under attack by Skalidor. They escape and head to help Kai and Jay who had been attacked by Pythor and the Venomari. They are then saved by Samurai X who uses gas to knock them out so they don't know the identity of the samurai. The ninja then head to Ninjago city to stop the tribes uniting. They then use the power of rumours to their advantage to stop the tribes uniting but are all captured except Zane because of his pink outfit blending in with a poster on the wall. Zane then frees the others but is pursued by Pythor, Skales, and the other Serpentine. Zane then uses his Shurikens of Ice to freeze the floors, and then everyone gets on his snowmobile, and they escape, while Pythor and other Serpentine are slipping on the icy floor that Zane created. Lloyd Garmadon makes Zane's clothes white again to make up for making them pink in the first place. Also, he says sorry to Cole by giving him a can of nuts, but Cole says there are snakes inside. He then opens the refrigerator and when he opened it, snakes pop out and everyone laughs, including Cole.
"The Snake King"
Pythor and Skales are found digging in the desert looking for a lost city known as "Ouroborus". Pythor finds a switch while digging and, when when the switch is activated, the lost city emerges from the sand. Meanwhile, the ninja receive a package with their ZX outfits. They are then told by Nya that Serpentine have invaded Mega Monster Amusement Park. By the time they are there, they find the serpentine tied up. They are told by the park's guests that a mysterious samurai came and saved the park. Sensei Wu tell the ninja to not be jealous of the samurai, but to instead be inspired by him. The ninja decide that whoever finds out the identity of the samurai shall become the Green Ninja. They each attempt to capture the samurai but fail. While Kai is baby-sitting Lloyd, he leaves him at an arcade so he can look for the samurai. Lloyd notices Skales talking to the other Serpentine about Ouroborus and offering them a ride there on a Serpentine Bus, and Lloyd sneaks on the bus, having disguised himself as a Hypnobrai. The bus takes them to Ouroborus, where Pythor challenges to fight the generals for there allegiance. Skales secretly gives Pythor the flute to charm the Serpentine in return to be Pythor's second-in-command. With the flute, Pythor forces the generals to give up there staffs. He then becomes leader of the snake tribes. Then, Lloyd drops the maracas that he was holding and the Serpentine find out he was Lloyd, leading to his immediate imprisonment. Back at the Destiny's Bounty, Sensei Wu asks about Lloyd and, when the ninja respond that they have not seen him, they get sent out to find him. The ninja find Lloyd's tracks and the lost city of "Ouroborous" that they led to. They try to make a sneak attack to rescue the boy but get captured, get their golden weapons taken away, and are forced to fight Samurai X. After a long time of fighting, they start to work together to get out of there. The ninja grab onto the mech suit and fly off to safety while Samurai X gets in a fight with the Serpentine and then later flies off to safety too, with the golden weapons. While in the sky, Samurai X's rocket boots shut down and he hits the ground. Meanwhile, the mech suit also shuts down and the ninja hit the ground, Kai being separated by the rest of the group. Kai sees Samurai X fall to the ground and goes to help, but finds out that he was Nya. Nya begs Kai not to reveal her identity, which Kai agrees to. Nya gives Kai the golden weapons and he goes to find the rest of the group, which he does. They go to the Destiny, though they returned without Lloyd, which made Sensei Wu upset. Nya then goes to her room to put her costume away and drops a weapon of her's in the process, which is picked up by Sensei Wu. Wu then says "Iron sharpens iron, sibling sharpens sibling".
The Ninja wonder and ask Sensei if they have reached their full potential. Sensei tells them a story of Garmadon when they were both young. He explains how the Great Devourer's venom made him evil. He goes on a trip to find Garmadon. Meanwhile the Serpentine ask Pythor P. Chumsworth where the four fang blades are and he struggles to find them. Then in Jamonicai village Zane finds the falcon and the ninja follow it. Zane first encounters a robot that tries to attack him. After defeating him he finds a workshop and discovers that he is and the falcon are robots . The ninja leave and are attacked by Treehorns and they struggle to win and discover the robot was made to fight treehorns and mistook Zane for one. Zane decides to fight and unlocks his full potential to fight the Treehorn Queen. Then Pythor discovers to get the map. He needs the antivenom in the staffs on paper to make the map. While Sensei Wu buys some tea and pours it in a fire and a portal opens. Sensei Wu goes in the portal, wakes up and Garmadon with four arms says "Hello brother, what took you so long?” and laughs.
"Once Bitten, Twice Shy"
The episode begins with Nya explaining to the ninjas another means for Fangpyre anti venom and after this, Jay asks her out on a date. Jay accidentally touches the fangs of the Fangpyre skeleton. The Serpentine try to get the first fang blade at the Mega Monster Amusement Park. They can sneak and not grab any attention because people think they are other people in costumes. When Sensei Wu talked to Lord Garmadon, he attacked him. Garmadon summoned mud monsters. But when Wu told Garmadon about Lloyd, Garmadon pulled him out, and they went on a journey to the Mountain of Madness to get back to Ninjago. While on the date Jay noticed that he is turning into a snake, but doesn't want to tell Nya. Meanwhile, the ninja fought the Serpentine. Zane accidentally froze themselves. When Nya walked away, Jay got beaten up by the people in the restaurant and then found a way to sneak out. Nya attempted to use the Samurai Mech but the busted engines provide a problem. The Serpentine caught up to her and tie her to a roller coaster with a flaming hoop and a broken track. Jay came to the rescue to stop them and save Nya, in the process, unlocking his full potential.
"The Royal Blacksmiths"
The Serpentine arrive at an ancient temple to find a fang blade. They use Lloyd to get past the traps, promising his freedom but then Lloyd finds that it isn't there and ask if he's going to be freed but Pythor says no. While the Ninjas discuss where are the other fang blades Cole shows one is in the form of a trophy. The ninjas pay a visit to his father and try to win the talent show so they can get the fang blade. Pythor disguises himself as a judge and then the ninjas win but Pythor steals the cup from them and gets two Bytars to trap Cole and Lou.Cole reaches his full potential to rescue his father. Meanwhile Sensei Wu and Lord Garmadon go through the mountain of madness and fight Craglings and make it back to Ninjago.
"The Green Ninja"
The episode starts with three of the ninja, Zane, Cole and Jay, training very late at night, while Kai dresses up as the Green Ninja. After the other ninjas sneak in and embarrass Kai, they get a message from Nya that Sensei Wu has returned. They met him and explain what has happened within the last few days, or the last three episodes. Behind him is Lord Garmadon, who surprises the ninjas because he has four arms. Kai and Lord Garmadon get locked in into a fight, which Sensei Wu breaks up. In the montage afterwards, the heroes are increasingly upset about his erratic (mainly evil-related) behavior, especially Kai. Kai hears Wu and Nya talk about the Green Ninja. He then gets in another fight with Garmadon, though more of a shove-fight. The ninjas find out that the third Fang Blade, and the Serpentine, and Lloyd Garmadon are in the fire temple. Kai runs out and catches Garmadon with the Four Golden Weapons (which proves Garmadon's plan worked) and gets into another fight. Kai wins this one, but gets scolded by Sensei Wu. The heroes get inside the fire temple, they see the snake looking for the Fang Blade. A snake next to Pythor finds and gives it to him. He looks in the blade and sees the ninjas. In this episode, Pythor gets the Fangpyre fang blade and Kai unlocks his full potential. Lloyd is saved in this episode and (at the end) has is revealed to be the Green Ninja, the one who will defeat the Dark Lord. (His Father)
"All of Nothing"
The episode begins with Spitta running down an alley and getting cornered by the four ninjas. He gives the ninjas lots of information on Pythor's whereabouts then he gets scared and tells them to stop them from unleashing the Great Devourer and is let free. Back on the Destiny's Bounty, Lloyd tells them they should steal the three other fang blades before Phytor gets the last one, then they find the tomb where the Serpentine are trying to get the fang blade. Before leaving, Sensei Wu instructs the ninjas on ways to avoid a snake's powers, such as Kai using Spinjizu with his eyes closed v.s. a Hypnobrai, or Zane connecting to the falcon against a Venomari. Also, Nya made a modification to the Samurai Mech to include a seat for Wu. The 4 ninjas, Nya and Wu leave Lloyd and Lord Garmadon behind to look after the HQ for them. In the tomb, they find a hidden door to the top of the Serpentine's inner sanctum. At Destiny's Bounty, Lloyd catches his dad trying to find the Ninjas secrets and tells him to leave, and they get a call from Nya. Meanwhile, the group is found and a fight begin, the ninjas using the tricks they learned earlier. However, they fall into a trap and end up in a large cage. Pythor then appears with the fourth and final fang blade, the Venomari blade. Lloyd gets ready to leave the ship in his Green Ninja suit, giving a message to Nya but failing to get a weapon. In the sanctum, Pythor is about to leave for Ouroborus, but the rest of the Serpentine want to celebrate with a Slither Pit tournament, which he agrees to. Kai escapes the cage in an attempt to free the others, but gets re-caught by Pythor. Lloyd breaks in, but trips on a rock and comically falls into the snakes' crowd and all of the Snakes laugh at him. Lord Garmadon appears with the skeleton army to save the ninjas, Pythor is shocked and tells him he betrayed them and Samukai long ago. A fight between 2011 and 2012 antagonists results in the heroes escaping with their possessions all 4 fang blades at once. During the fight Pythor tries to take the 4 fang blades and run off with them but he bumps into Lord Garmadon and Cole and they take the Fang Blades away from him. Pythor then turns invisable and the Ninjas go back to Destiny's Bounty. Afterwards, Lord Garmadon leaves the heroes and says good bye to his son before vanishing. Upset, Lloyd walks into a party the rest of the ninja made to celebrate having all of the fang blades. Unbeknownst to the ninjas, Pythor is outside their very window, about to strike for all of the fang blades.
"The Rise of the Great Devourer"
Pythor gets ready to steal the Fang Blades to unleash The Great Devourer. Part of this is him tying Lloyd to some training equipment, keeping him quiet. Sensei looks into the spirit fog and sees him and the ninjas fighting the Serpentine, but the The Great Devourer is freed anyway. This foreshadows the events of the entire episode. Sensei gathers the ninja to throw the Fang Blades into a volcano to destroy them (however, the Fang Blades could have survived this anyway, the Fangpyre one did in The Green Ninja). Pythor makes his move and messes up the controls of the ship, sending Sensei overboard. Wu is caught by the ninja, but the event distracts them while Pythor gathers the Fang Blades. Before leaving, Pythor is attacked by Nya (as the Samurai) and Lloyd (as the Green Ninja). Pythor jumps off, onto the Rattlecopter and meets with the other snakes. The snakes hijack a tour bus to drive towards Ouroborus. The ninja race towards it and get into a big fight. The ninja board the snake bus and fight off the snakes guarding it, led by Skales. Cole uses his Tread Assault to knock Skales out of a window, into the desert. As a result all minion snakes flee, leaving only Pythor. Sensei goes after Pythor and fights him. This (and the ninjago mailman cycling by) causes the bus to crash right in front of Ouroborus. Pythor slithers in and places the fang blades into the Great Devourer's statue, awakening the beast. The statue collapses right in front of him. He finds out that the Devourer was under him, not the statue, the whole time, larger than any statue or drawing of it. The Great Devourer exits its prison, ever hungry. Pythor is dragged by Sensei Wu in front of the Devourer and were together the reptile's first course.
"The Day of the Great Devourer"
Pythor and Sensei Wu have just been the appetizer of The Great Devourer's mighty buffet after it has finally been released. The ninja are forced to run with the giant reptile on their heels. The ninja flee to the Destiny's Bounty and are forced to leave their home behind after the Great Devourer caught it. Left with nothing but their weapons (and the Samurai Mech) the ninja head to the junkyard owned by Jay's parents. While Jay's parents weren't there, the ninjas used the junk and the Tornado of Creation to make the Ultra Sonic Raider. The Devourer (probably attracted to the large amount of things it could eat) appears and gets into a huge fight with the Sonic Raider, destroying it. Zane is caught in the attack and has the left side of his "skin" messed up, part of his "nindroid" face showing. The giant monster scurries to Ninjago City, the capital of Ninjago. The Great Devourer goes through the forest where the Fangpyre tomb is located in his path to the city. The Serpentine, who are all gathered at the Fangpyre tomb, jump into the tomb to avoid being squashed and they shut the lid, trapping them in the tomb. The ninja protect the citizens and people celebrating some kind of anti-snake holiday (Including Lou, Ed Walker and Edna Walker). The four-headed dragon saves the ninja after they almost get eaten. The dragon and the snake fight, but the snake wins once again. Garmadon shows up and asks for the four golden weapons. The seven (Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, Lloyd and Garmadon) formulate a plan. The ninja take turns "running from it," using its large size against it. Going according to plan, the Devourer ends up stuck with its tail in it's mouth. Garmadon jumps off of a skyscraper with the four weapons and destroy The Great Devourer for good. Though Pythor, Garmadon and the Four Golden Weapons are nowhere to be found, the ninjas find Sensei Wu, still alive.

The ninja speed on, and are winning, but in the final stretch, Lord Garmadon uses his Mega Weapon to create a giant crevasse in the ground. Kai uses a secret weapon installed by Nya and transfers the Ultra Sonic Raider into its flying form. The race is a photo finish, and the ninja win thanks to the part Jay took from his parent's car. Garmadon thinks it's not fair, being his ship is bigger. But Lloyd takes back the Bounty, and the cops try to arrest the Dark Lord. The serpentine bus drives in and picks up Garmadon, who probably will be back.
The episode starts with Lloyd gazing over the Bounty onto Jamonicai Village seeing some kids playing. He is sad that instead of playing he must train. He tries to get permission to go buy a comic, but the ninja tell him he must train. Nya then tells the ninja that Lord Garmadon has been spotted at the museum. Once there, Lord Garmadon tells the Serpentine he is going to awaken the long dead Grundle, a killer dinosaur creature with a head like a deep sea fish, and make it hunt the ninja. In the middle of this process, the Ninja interrupt. They jump on the fossil, but nothing seems to happen at all. Garmadon gets angry and leaves, and the Serpentine Generals steal a sarcophagus. The ninja go after them, but fall behind. As the Generals can´t get the sarcophagus into a manhole with them, they leave it behind. The ninja then realize they have been turned into kids. Police cars pull up, and the ninja are accused of having stolen the sarcophagus. As the ninja try to perform Spinjitzu, they realize they are to short. When they face the museum director and apologize, he asks them why the Grundle fossil is gone too. The ninja then realize it must have been reawakened and walked off. To escape, the ninja disguise themselves and run off with some school kids. A while after the director sees them leave, he hears a rumbling coming from on top of the museum. He looks up, and the Grundle jumps down and scares the visitors. The ninja try to call Lloyd as he is playing video-games. They meet at the arcade, where Lloyd is shocked at what happened to them. He brings them to a comic writer that he knows to ask him for advice. The writer tells him that a couple of illuma-swords would work well, as the Grundle is nocturnal, but they must win them in a comic knowledge competition. They call Sensei and Nya and tell them what happened. Sensei and Nya then go to the tea lady for tomorrow tea to turn the ninja back into their older selves and the Grundle back into bones, but it takes the tea lady a while to find it. Meanwhile, Lloyd loses the competition and the Grundle shows up, but using the illuma-swords and Lloyd´s powers, they manage to hold the Grundle at bay until Sensei and Nya turn up. They use the tea, but it makes Lloyd become an older version of himself, too. The episode ends with the writer handing Lloyd a comic, which he says Lloyd has earned. Lloyd declines, saying he already knows how it ends. The last image is a comic where Lloyd faces of against his father under the stylized title of "Green Ninja".
"Wrong Place, Wrong Time"

After the opening of the first season happens, the future ninja tell past Sensei Wu about how they are from the future and what they must do. When the skeletons come and kidnap Nya, Garmadon makes them miss with the Bone Claw. Nya's capture was the reason why Kai wanted to be a ninja in the first place, and Kai has no prompt to go with Sensei. However, Sensei managed to convince past Kai to come with him to train anyway. At the Monastery, Sensei is trying to train Kai, but Kai is unwilling. The Ninja then kidnap Nya to make Kai become a Ninja. Everything goes along as planned until the Fire Temple showdown. There, both past and future Garmadon battle past Kai and the future Ninja. In order to make everything right, the ninja unite the weapons and use them to destroy the Mega Weapon. Misako believes that if they can return the Helmet of Darkness to the Celestial Clock, it will stop and prevent the final battle. Misako swipes the helmet from Garmadon's tent, and rush to the clock. Lord Garmadon pursues them in his new weapon: a four-armed robot. After Garmadon disables Cole's Power Drill, Lloyd arrives and makes short work of the robot. Lloyd attempts to summon the Golden Dragon to defeat an injured Garmadon, but is unable to hurt his father. The ninja arrive at the Celestial Clock and have trouble finding the helmet's perch. They return it, but the clock strikes zero. A beam of light shoots out of it and hits Garmadon's camp, and the Overlord presents the Ultimate Weapon: The Garmatron.

Season 3 (8 Episodes)
A long time has passed since Lloyd, as the Golden Ninja, defeated the Overlord: Ninjago City has been rebuilt into New Ninjago City, and the Ninja are now teachers of Sensei Wu's Academy. However, the Ninja are far from happy and yearn for the old days fighting the forces of evil. Nya comes with the news of a field trip to New Ninjago City's Borg Industries, and they set off with their students. Upon arrival, they realize how much the city has changed into the technological marvel it now is, and no longer requires the Ninja. They also meet P.I.X.A.L., a Nindroid-like robot at Borg Industries whom takes an interest in Zane and vice versa. While Nya, Sensei Wu, and the students are given a tour of the building, the former Ninja are called to meet with Cyrus Borg, the manager of Borg Industries, who led the city's rebuilding. Cyrus Borg gives them a statue of himself as a gift to them and Lloyd, though Kai notes his worried expression and warning to "protect them with their lives". They find out why when, by breaking the statue in the elevator, they discover new ninja outfits and the Techno-Blades. Immediately, all of the building's systems become hostile, and the Ninja barely escape their plummeting elevator while Nya, Sensei Wu, and the students are attacked by P.I.X.A.L. and the assembly room's drones.
While the tour group tries to find a way out, the newly-dressed Ninja attempt to escape by using their new weapons, but with no success. An ominous face on Cyrus Borg's screens berates him for betraying him before "reassembling" the pleading manager. Meanwhile, the Ninja finally discover the power of the Techno-Blades when Zane uses his to hack and reprogram a hover-copter, and then saves the students from the assembly room's incinerator. As Nya takes the students back to the Academy and warn Lloyd, the Ninja and Sensei Wu go on the offensive to protect the people. Jay reprograms a tank; Cole takes a robot drone; and Kai flies a jet, which projects a message from Cyrus Borg of the reason why he gave them the new suits and blades: the Overlord is back, in the form of a computer virus and has secretly re-taken control of the city. This fear is further elevated when the Overlord reveals himself upon Lloyd's arrival to assist the surrounded Ninja, and demands the Techno-Blades and Lloyd himself. Sensei Wu makes a plan to escape with Lloyd and the weapons, which succeeds but leaves Sensei Wu behind as a captive. While the Ninja leave New Ninjago City to fight another day, a reprogrammed P.I.X.A.L. initiates the assembly of a robot army scanned from Zane's design...
"The Art of the Silent Fist"
In the top of Borg Industries, P.I.X.A.L. attempts to transfer Lloyd's "golden power" from a drone he attacked to the Overlord. This fails, and the Overlord laments his weakened state and using bodies and technology to live. Claiming that Lloyd is the source to become powerful again, he scans a captive Sensei Wu's memories to find him. Meanwhile, the Ninja and Nya are reunited with Misako, who leads them to a reformed Lord Garmadon--Sensei Garmadon. While Zane guards the Techno-Blades, the others meet with Sensei Garmadon in his monastary while learning with his students the technique of "fighting without fighting": the Art of the Silent Fist. As this happens, P.I.X.A.L. attempts to steal the weapons from Zane, but is captured and taken to the monastary before being reprogrammed by his Techno-Blade. Freed of the Overlord's influence, she explains to the group how the Overlord requires Lloyd's power to escape the digital realm and the importance of the Techno-Blades: together, they are able to reboot the city's systems and wipe clean all of their programs--the Overlord included. By this time, an army of Nindroids attack and the group barely escape, leaving Zane damaged and their vehicles destroyed in a diversion. They decide to split up: the Ninja, Nya, and P.I.X.A.L. head toward New Ninjago City's power station to disable the Nindroids, while Sensei Garmadon and Lloyd go to Nya's Samurai X hideout for transport as far from the city as possible. Meanwhile, the Overlord is furious at the Nindroids' failed attempts, and declares his new method of finding them in the form of a huge mech-dragon.
During their travel to the power station, Nya explains the plan to shut off the power and provide a safe way to enter the city while P.I.X.A.L. and Zane share some bonding time over their differences, including Zane's power source which P.I.X.A.L. describes as "unique". When they get there, the place is swarming with Nindroids, including their semi-sentient leader General Cryptor. As they infiltrate the station and attempt to shut off the power core, the Ninja and Nya are discovered, which prompts P.I.X.A.L. to create a diversion and an alarmed Zane to rescue her from General Cryptor. At the same time, Lloyd and his father are found and chased by the huge mech-dragon sent by the Overlord. Soon, Kai gets the idea of "fighting without fighting" by provoking the Nindroid they are facing to shooting the core. Cole tells Nya to let the others in, and the combined attacks and evasions succeed in destroying the power core and shutting off all machinery dependent on it. Unfortunately, this included P.I.X.A.L. as well, who tells a despondent Zane that they are not so different after all--even compatible--before shutting off too. Far from the scene, Lloyd and his father climb over the deactivated mech-dragon to continue their journey.
Although the power is out in all of New Ninjago City, a recently-awakened Cyrus Borg discovers the hard-drive containing the Digital Overlord has been stolen. Deep underground, a mysterious white-robed stranger plugs said hard-drive into an electric eel-powered generator, reviving the Overlord and volunteers to assist him with a new enemy to the Ninja. As this is happening, Sensei Garmadon teaches the importance of balance to his son, as well as relying on his other powers besides his new Golden Dragon power.
Meanwhile in Jay's parents' junkyard, Cole Jay, and Kai are helping build a means of getting to New Ninjago City while Zane and Nya successfully revive P.I.X.A.L with half of his energy source. Touched by his action, P.I.X.A.L accidentally lets slip that Nya has new feelings for Cole based on the electronic match-up back at Borg Industries, which Jay overhears and gets into a fight with Cole. Their argument is cut short when alternatively-powered Nindroids start to attack the Ninja with a magnetic crane and laser-fire. Both of Jay's parents escape with jet-bubble packs, and the Ninja are forced to use Spinjitzu to escape--except Zane, who realizes with P.I.X.A.L that dividing his power source reduced his fighting abilities. His weakened state makes him an easy target for a reanimated General Cryptor and his Nindroids, casing Cole and Jay to help but become trapped in a junk compactor... by Sensei Wu, who has been turned into one of the Nindroids.
As Kai fruitlessly tries to fend off Wu, Nya eventually saves Cole and Jay from being crushed but refuses to tell them which of the black and blue wires she cut to save them. Zane, however, is worse for wear when he is magnetized and sent falling into a shredder. P.I.X.A.L narrowly manages to save him, discovering that what abilities Zane had lost in dividing his power, she now gained with her defensive maneuvers. Both Nindroids manage to fend off the oncoming horde and, by sharing their newfound abilities, perform Spinjitzu together as one. Upon rejoining a disarmed Kai, the other Ninja realize Wu has turned evil and attempt to fight off their former master. This fails, and evil Wu almost possesses the Techno-Blades until Zane and P.I.X.A.L trap him with the magnetic crane--but not before the white-robed stranger frees him and escapes with him. The Ninja are confused as to how to get Sensei Wu back and the identity of their newest enemy... until P.I.X.A.L discovers a white scale belonging to the Serpentine.
At this time, Lloyd and his father make it across a mountain peak, thanks to Lloyd finding his elemental powers again, when the Falcon sends them a message from the Ninja about their progress... a message being traced by the mysterious stranger.
"The Curse of the Golden Master"
The Ninja finally arrive at New Ninjago City, where they find its streets littered and its people turned somewhat-primitive. Cyrus Borg reunites with them and P.I.X.A.L, much to his elation, and explains the missing hard-drive. They in turn reveal their suspicion of who's involved and go underground via a water line under the city--but not without Cole and Jay still bickering. P.I.X.A.L elects to stay behind to assist Cyrus Borg in his tower.
Far away, Lloyd and Garmadon reach a thick, swamp-like forest to keep hidden from the Nindroids. Lloyd complains that he is tired of hiding, but his father explains that is the price for inheriting absolute power because there others who will covet it, even the Ninja, much to his son's revulsion to the idea.
In the tower, Cyrus Borg and P.I.X.A.L successfully repower the tower with an auxilary generator so to locate the Nindroids without detection. P.I.X.A.L then tells her creator of her feelings for Zane, which Borg approves by telling her it is her choice alone whether to be with him. Their moment is interrupted by the signal of Nindroids--from underground.
After a while, the Ninja locate the tomb of the Stone Army where they find a surprised Skales--and his new family. Upon interrogation, Skales reveals the Serpentines' promise to never leave their newly-developed underground haven for the surface in fear of a curse that seemingly involves Lloyd. This curse, according to them, started with the legacy of the First Spinjitzu Master uniting the people and the Serpentine, but the snake tribes knew of the absolute power the Master wielded, and deduced that one day the most powerful Spinjitzu master--named the "Golden Master"--would enslave all the races in the world, thus explaining why they sought shelter underground. At that moment, Nindroids ambush the haven, leaving the Ninja no choice but to protect their former enemies while battling their newly-powered adversaries. It is Cole who notices the electric eel-packs on their backs as their power sources, and the others dispatch the robots easily. One, however, remains active and is revealed to be the Overlord's essence, which tells the Ninja of his plan all along: the Nindroids were a distraction for the Ninja while he searched for Lloyd with some help of the stranger and the Ninja themselves. Deactivating the droid, they frantically leave to find the Green Ninja, but not before Skales tells them who would be responsible for using the eels in the first place.
Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon find a safe refuge in a spring within the forest when evil Wu appears and attacks his brother. Both of them face each other, while Lloyd is forced to find safety from an incoming Nindroid horde. Using his Golden Power on himself, he fashions a green-and-gold motorcycle and successfully evades them. His route is halted when the dragon-mech, possessed by the Overlord, appears with Sensei Garmadon held prisoner over the cliffside by evil Wu, as well as the white-robed stranger who binds Lloyd. To his shock, the stranger is Pythor, who survived being eaten by the Devourer but not without losing his tail and his scales turned white. Lloyd laments being unable to fight on his own, which his father tries to comfort him but is thrown overboard anyway. As the dragon-mech flies off to New Ninjago City with Lloyd held prisoner, Sensei Garmadon vows to find and save his son from suffering a fate worse than his past one.
"Enter the Digiverse"
Overlord holds Lloyd captured in a capsule on MechDragon where he starts draining his golden powers, while Lloyd cannot escape. On the other side he uses golden power to create a body of legendary Golden Master, and when it's completed, turn into him.
Cyrus Borgs finds a way how ninjas will get the last chance to destroy Overlord, and that is getting into the Digiverse, a virtual world where Overlord lives as a virus. There they will be able to face him and finally reboot the system. Borg extracts power from P.I.X.A.L's half heart source to power the machine that will lead ninjas to the Digiverse. They sit on four seats and P.I.X.A.L sets Techno-blades on each of them, that will create their new bodies that they will control in the Digiverse. After she does it, they success and ninjas wake up in the Digiverse, where everything is digital. When they get out of the Digital Borg Tower, Overlord spots them and turns Digital Ninjago City upside down to defeat ninjas. However ninjas use their Techno-blades to activate new vehicles and get to the top of the Digiverse. There they find a source where they set Techno-blades now ready to reboot the system.
In the real world, Pythor and Nindroids attack Borg Tower to steal Techno-blades, but get stopped by crazy citizens led by the Mailman. They still get to the top at Borg's office where they capture Cyrus Borg and get him away. Nya gets attacked by Nindroids but repels theyr attack activating her Samurai X suit again. One Nindroid starts fighting with others and reveals himself as Garmadon. Pythor gets confused after seeing Garmadon fighting him, but then he says it's because he captured his son. Ninjas get too close from destroying Overlord after they all turn into golden ninjas. They manage to destroy Overlord and the system gets rebooted. All machines at the New Ninjago City turn back to normal, including Wu who was fighting Garmadon in the time system gets rebooted. As it is rebooted, MechDragon, where Lloyd is captured gets out of control of the Overlord and falls down to the sea, while Lloyd escapes through it's mouth. He makes contact with the ninjas who are back from the Digiverse, Garmadon, and Wu, saying that he's alive. They have no idea, though, that Overlord succeeded enough to create a rough form of his Golden Master body before system is rebooted.
Nindroids find the Overlord in the sunk MechDragon and lift it up with air balloons. Lloyd and ninjas get back to the Temple of Light where Lloyd gets his golden powers back again. Half of his powers go to other ninjas, and no they get more elemental powers and abilities.
Zane and P.I.X.A.L find something called "Project:Arcturus" which might be Pythor's next plan. General Cryptor turns Cyrus evil again and he becomes Overborg. Pythor spits Overlord, now in physical spirit form, who wants to finsih the project "Arcturus".
Kai is on a date on a gas station in the middle of the desert. It gets ruined by P.I.X.A.L, who calls Kai and warns him about the Nindroid convoy led by General Cryptor approaching the highway. Then he gets away with his Prototype of X-1 Battle machine to find them. P.I.X.A.L starts controlling his machine. When he comes to a bridge, Cryptor sees him and sends few Nindroid flyers to destroy his car. Kai repels their attack. Cryptor shoots the mountain with rockets so rocks fall down on the road, but Kai destroys them and makes a free way again. P.I.X.A.L activates X-1's interceptor motorcycle so he can reach Cryptor's truck, but Kai fails to control it and ends up on the top of an oil tank where he fights Nindroids. When he uses his fire spinjitzu, he lits the whole tank which is now going to explode. Kai fights Min-Droid. When the fuel tank explodes, Kai hides under Cryptor's truck. He hears Pythor talking to the Overlord by radio. He tells P.I.X.A.L how Overlord is still alive, but Pythor discovers his "perfect hiding spot" few seconds after and takes him to the lost city of Ouroborus.
When Jay, Nya and Cole get out of the cinema, they ask her who will she pick. She says she picks a robot Jole, a mixture of Jay and Cole. Suddenly, lights come from the Borg Tower so they climb up to see what is going on, where they find Lloyd, Garmadon, Zane, Wu and P.I.X.A.L, who tell them about Pythor who kidnapped Kai and that "Project Arcturus" is a clue about Overlord's next project. P.I.X.A.L cannot find anything related to Arcturus, which is impossible because she has got every moment in Ninjago's history in her database. However, Garmadon remembers that the only thing that P.I.X.A.L doesn't have in her base is what happened when they get back in time, which is destruction of Megaweapon, which after it's destruction was sent to space. When he explains that, ninjas realize that Overlord's plan is to get to space and bring back the Golden Weapons, the only thing that can make him the Golden Master. Zane searches Serpentines' shelters and finds out that Pythor is holding Kai in the Ouroboros. When they arrive to the city, they get disappointed after they don't find anything, but soon after that a huge door beneath them opens and they fall into a huge underground base with a huge rocketship called Arcturus in the center. They fight Nindroids and save Kai. Lloyd realizes that Pythor is going to launch Arcturus to the space, but Overborg stops him from stopping Pythor. Nindroids and General Cryptor retreat and enter the rocket, and Pythor starts the launch. Ninjas enter inside the rocket and Arcturus blasts off to the space.
While the Arcturus rocket is bursting through space, the ninjas are trapped in its engine part. They make contact with Sensei Wu, Garmadon, Nya and Pixal in the Borg Tower and voice their concerns about their current predicament. Wu discovers there are space suits inside the ship, which can lead them to go outside and take control of the ship. Zane goes out and tries to search them, due to not needing oxygen as a Nindroid. He gets to far off the ship, but uses his ice powers to get back.
He finds the suits and gives them to the other ninjas just as the rocket disengages its engine parts. However when they climb up toward the door leading to the cockpit they get attacked by Nindroids, who start to use their laser guns. Following Jay's initiative and learning their Spinjitzu does not work in zero-gravity, the others take the laser guns too so they successfully repel the attack. Soon the Arcturus enters an incoming comet's tail and gets in super speed.
In New Ninjago City, the Overborg, Pythor and Nindroids bring the capsule with the Overlord inside the Borg Tower. When Nya and others up in Borg's office realize that, they quickly get away while taking with them the equipment needed to keep in contact with the ninja. Meanwhile, the Nindroids enter the office and open the capsule, releasing the Overlord in a blackened form of the Golden Master. Overborg attacks Wu, Garmadon, and Nya but they save themselves with Hover Copter controlled by P.I.X.A.L's central computer. In space, the Arcturus rocket crashes on the comet's surface where the melted and fused forms of the Golden Weapons are located. General Cryptor discovers the Golden Weapons and warns his Nindroid minions to not touch them, as one discovers why. The hidden ninja discover them too as Jay excitedly finds an extraterrestrial beetle. Unfortunately, said bugs eat anything metal--a fact that reaches them from Nya too late. While the Nindroids get away with the golden mass aboard their ROV, the ninja follow pursuit in their own while using the pursuing bugs against their robotic adversaries. The ninjas eventually succeed in taking Cryptor's ignition key to the rocket, so that they cannot leave the comet with the Golden Weapons and take them to the Overlord. However, their victory is short-lived when they find another bug swarm among the rocket--chewed up in pieces. Seeing this as well, Cryptor and the other surviving Nindroids use their built-in boosters to fly off the comet with their golden prize. Stranded on the surface with the insects, the ninja report to the others that they had failed and are not coming back home.
"The Titanium Ninja"
The Ninja use their Elemental Powers to rebuild the spaceship and back to Ninjago. They rush back to new Ninjago City and know that they need to find Cyrus Borg in a temple but the Overlord chases them with a Golden Master Spinjizu of destruction , but at last they go to the temple and activate the shield to protect themselves from the Golden Power. The temple that the Ninja refuge is where the Overlord's Stone Warriors once hid from the First Spinjitzu Master. Here, they meet with Cyrus Borg who imparted them his newest secret weapon: a shrinking pill to weaken the Overlord. Donning armor from the Stone Warrior remains which results in new Techno-Robe armor, the Ninja begin to find the Overlord has completely taken over and become the Golden Master! Shooting out beams of pure energy to create a sort of spiderweb for his Mech which he uses to empower him, the Overlord asserts his authority by threatening the lives of the citizens, but fails as Skales and the Serpentine help them into the underground. The Ninja travel along the beams, protected by their armour and drawing the Overlord's fire away from Sensei Wu and Garmadon so that they can hit the pill into the Overlord's mouth. They succeed in hitting it, but Pythor ends up swallowing it and turning smaller! Worse for him, the falcon spots him and chases him.
The Overlord taunts the Ninja and captures all but Zane, who rallies the Ninja to support him one last time. Zane uses them to jump up to the Mech, but when he touches the Golden Armor of the Mech, he begins to glow as no one can survive all of the Golden Weapons' power at once. The Overlord taunts Zane even more, but he does not give up; instead he tells the Overlord that the conflict is no longer about numbers, but about family. His resistance weakens the Golden Master's powers and breaks the bonds that hold the Ninja. They shout for him to let go, but Zane continues to hold on, channeling the golden energy, and uses all of his ice powers to freeze the Golden Master. While doing this, he remembers all of his memories with the ninja and with P.I.X.A.L., including his purpose from his father; to "protect others whom cannot protect themselves". This gives Zane the encouragement he needs to fulfill that purpose in a massive explosion of energy. When the frost settles, the ninja find the Golden Master Overlord gone and the whole city covered in ice and snow... and a shell of Zane's left face.
The next day, all of New Ninjago City's citizens attend Zane's funeral, where Kai shares a tribute to Zane and Cyrus unveils a statue of Zane, respectfully dubbing him the ‘Titanium Ninja’. As a new blanket of snow begins to fall, the remaining Ninja, their Senseis, Nya, and Dareth gather together in front of the statue. Back in Borg Industries, P.I.X.A.L. is seen leaning against the window, mourning Zane, when she suddenly hears many of their previous conversations played aloud out of the Industries’ computers--one of which shows the production line activating on its own. She then runs there and, upon arrival, hears a new digitized voice much to her joy: "Are we compatible now?"
Season 4 (10 Episodes)
A period of time has passed since the climatic battle in New Ninjago City, with Lloyd continuing his training exercises within Cyrus Borg's hologram rooms. When asked of the other Ninjas' whereabouts, he hesitates before replying they have other things to do. Borg says he sympathizes; the Ninja have never been the same since Zane sacrificed himself, and even P.I.X.A.L. hasn't been seen since the memorial. However, Sensei Wu encourages Lloyd to get them together as a team again. Eventually after some coaxing, Lloyd succeeds in bringing Jay, Cole, and Kai from their own separate lifestyles, meeting at a sushi restaurant. Although the three are indignant about working together again without Zane, they are brought to doing just that by saving the place from local thugs. Pursuing them to the back, the four find the area empty except a simple shrine with fortune cookies and a note--a note saying Zane is still alive!
Suspicious of the note being a cruel joke, they discover the cookies contain invitations to a Tournament of Elements held by Master Chen, who also owns the sushi place. Sworn by the notes to not tell anybody, along with the prospect of finding their old friend, the ninja decide to attend. Reaching the meeting place at the docks, they find there are also many different people waiting... including a girl clad in orange-yellow ninja robes who attracts Kai's eye. Sensei Garmadon makes an unexpected arrival, having discovered their whereabouts from Lloyd's questioning. Within the boat, Garmadon explains to the ninja that the other passengers also have their own elemental powers, gained from the First Spinjitzu Master's chosen Guardians, and that Master Chen's second-in-command Clouse should not be trusted. Meanwhile, when Kai sees another passenger, Karloff, start pestering the ninja girl, he interferes in her honor and a brief fight ensues between the Master of Fire and the metal-handed warrior. Chen's second-hand man interferes at last, and the mysterious ninja girl helps Kai up, meanwhile strange energy passes between their hands. When they finally near Chen's island, his assistant notifies their arrival along with Sensei Garmadon; but Chen seems unaffected by his presence, declaring he's holding "all the cards" while outside a stone dungeon... with a blue-eyed titanium Zane chained inside.
"Only One Can Remain"
As the ninja and other contenders make their way from the boat to Chen's palace, the ninja question Sensei Garmadon how he knows the island so well whereas they didn't know it existed. Garmadon explains that Chen used to be one of the First Spinjitsu Master's Guardians, his elemental masters, before betraying them for the Serpentine and so initiating the Serpentine War; and as a result of his narrow defeat, Chen was sworn to not leave the island. As for Chen himself, he reveals that he used to be his sensei during his time as Lord Garmadon--along with a snake tattoo on his shoulder for proof. When they meet within the temple, Master Chen explains the rules of the Tournament of Elements and its "rewards and glory". Afterwards, all of the competitors (except Garmadon, who keeps lookout outside the fortress) are escorted by his servants to their "customized" rooms. During this, Kai is able to make a proper introduction to his neighbor, the ninja girl, who happens to be named Skylor and has an element she keeps secret from him.
Suddenly, Chen speaks through microphones throughout his layout that the first challenge has begun: to collect weapons called Jade Blades to advance to the next challenge. Although caught off-guard by their fancy rooms and the other contenders, the ninja are able to stay in the tournament; Kai makes it barely with his Jade Blade, leaving his opponent Karloff as the loser that is dropped into a hidden pit. Afterwards, the ninja get suspicious about Chen's true intentions and thus decide to meet that night to search the palace for Zane. As they gather in Kai's room (after a close call from a warming moment between him and Skylor), Cole inadvertently reveals a secret way through the palace's walls in his bed. Leaving a trail made by Cole, they make their way between the walls; they discover with shock that, through a peep hole, that Skylor has fire powers like Kai. Eventually, they encounter a cultist room led by Chen himself. When the captive Karloff asks about the cultists' chanting, Chen replies their translation of "only one can remain" and forcibly removes Karloff's metal elemental powers... with ice powers! The ninja are discovered afterwards due to their face-painted disguises melting off and manage to escape from the cultists, booby-traps, and a large purple snake. They conclude that the tournament is nothing but a front to steal everyone's elemental powers, including Zane's, for unknown reasons, and that they'll have to follow his rules to avoid any more detection. Elsewhere, Clouse becomes suspicious of the intruders as he pets the large, Devourer-like purple snake strikingly familiar to Pythor's kind...
Zane is seen walking through a blizzard when he falls through the cracking ice, encountering a huge dragon made of ice and titanium--a vision he awakes from when P.I.X.A.L. calls to him. Startled, he wonders out-loud where he is and she explains that he's in danger and his memory banks and elemental power scrambled. Seeing two identical spiders crawling into a hole on a nearby wall jump-starts his memory, recalling he and she "are compatible", much to her joy and relief. Eventually, Zane manages to recall some of his new abilities and breaks free to P.I.X.A.L.'s dungeon... only to find her in pieces. Devastated, he is told by her that she had to help him since she wasn't able to go with him. He proves her wrong by plugging her processor core into his own, downloading her entire essence into his mind. Both encouraged by their new bond, their moment is interrupted by Clouse who electrocutes Zane and tells his captors to rebind him with stronger chains. Elsewhere, Nya is talking to Wu about her troubles concerning her feelings toward jay and Cole, to which Wu is sympathetic yet cannot help with youthful emotions. Nonetheless, both of them and Misako agree that the ninjas' absence is becoming troubling and Nya sets off in an armored transport to find them.
On Chen's island, Sensei Garmadon and the ninja are discussing what Chen could be up to, though it leads to another argument between Cole and Jay. Garmadon tells them that holding grudges only causes harm, which Lloyd agrees, saying they are not each other's opponents. Just then, Chen announces the next round is about to continue: Speed vs Gravity; Nature vs Mind; and Smoke... vs Fire. The round has close calls, but Kai manages to win his Jade Blade, to Skylor's secret elation. Afterwards, Clouse voices his suspicions of the ninja and Chen rebuffs him from using his sorcery again with another means to divide them... which happens to be switching Earth and Lightning against each other, as the ninja find with horror and anger. With little time left, they turn to Kai's idea of making a friend from their enemies; reading Lloyd's mind, Neuro the Elemental Master of Mind, is convinced of Chen's true intentions and becomes an ally. By the time the next round comes, Neuro returns from scouting; he reports to the ninja that he couldn't get past Clouse's will, but he did see from his mind a page from Chen's spellbook with the elemental powers as the ingredients. Hopeful but dismayed, Cole says the idea of fighting each other was inevitable, but Lloyd reminds him that Chen is their true enemy, not Jay. It is only after Jay is forced to the ground by his powers that Cole understands what Lloyd meant, and both he and Jay admit their grudges and regrets, and become better friends again. Recognizing their truce, Chen attempts to make them fight each other with his minions and "condrai crushers", but both ninja still work together to beat their true opponents, making the other masters cheer more. This sets Chen off by making the arena ground collapse on itself to make them both lose. Jay tells Cole to go for the Jade Blade, but Cole throws him the blade, telling him that he should have bowed from their fight. With the Master of Earth dropped, Garmadon encourages the remaining ninja that Cole taught everyone to "know thy enemy, and know thy friend"... a lesson that seemingly has a silent effect on the remaining elemental masters.
On the mainland of Ninjago, Nya is still searching for the ninja when Zane's falcon finds her and beckons her to her disbelief to Zane's beacon offshore.
On the mainland, Nya relays what she has found out to Wu, and suspects Chen's Noodle House's disappearing trucks may be linked. Disguising her transport in a holographic copy of the delivery truck, she follows them toward the docks where she unexpectedly picks up Dareth on board for the mission.
On the island, Kai arrives late to the next match which, to his surprise, pits Skylor against the Master of Sound Jacob. When Sensei Garmadon questions his enthusiasm, Jay tells him about their possible family relation of fire powers, as Skylor shows by burning Jacob's guitar weapon. Garmadon replies that she isn't related to Kai (who is delighted of the news), but her elemental power happens to be Amber: the power to assimilate and emulate any other she can touch. As if justifying his claim, Skylor lightly touches Jacob's shoulder upon distraction and uses his soundwaves to evade him and retrieve the Jade Blade. Declaring her the winner, Chen claims that he would've rewarded the remaining contenders with riches had it not been for Cole and Jay's teamwork against his rules, and so gathers all of them into one room for the morning's round. Wise to his deception and concerned by the others' resentment toward them, Jay wonders if sticking together only singles them as the main targets, but Lloyd argues that doing so actually makes them a team, which his father agrees. However, Garmadon does note that Chen will do what he can to divide and make each other their own enemies. His concerns prove true when, in the middle of the night, Clouse and his minions announce the next round's commencement: a roller-skating race which everyone can choose two leaders--Lloyd, Master of Power, or Camille, Master of Form--holding their Jade Blades. Almost immediately, the ninja are singled out against everyone else, to Chen's delight. When the "Thunderblade" race begins, the ninja realize they are at a big disadvantage: they are outnumbered; only Jay can skate adequately; their powers can do so much to keep them in; and Chen keeps altering the race to make sure Lloyd loses. However, Kai gets the idea of "making their enemies their friends" again by telling the other masters about Chen's plan; most are fully convinced when Neuro supports them. The new team then rallies and helps Lloyd gain lost ground, but this leads Chen resorting to more traps and ordering Clouse and his henchmen to rig the race, all of which fail by Garmadon and Skylor's interventions. When time runs out, Lloyd turns to be the winner (by default, as Camille lost her Blade before crossing the finish line, and breaking Chen's claimed skating record), but Chen accuses him of cheating anyway. The ninja's new allies rally with them, claiming Chen keeps changing his own rules to his pleasing, but it's when Skylor sides with them that Chen angrily submits and eliminates Form instead. Amid their cheering for Lloyd, Skylor warns Kai that Chen will try even harder to make sure they lose, but Kai assures her that it's all the more reason to make as many friends as possible, because friends always stick together like a team.
As for Cole, his time as a powerless working slave in Chen's Noodle Factory is anything but delicious. He is reduced to making and packaging the very noodles and foods he loved, and being covered in flour. Discovering the losing masters working there as well, deprived of their powers, he also finds that any attempt of escape means being fed to what Karloff calls the "labyrinth dweller": the large purple snake he and the other ninja saw before. However, he finds one sign of hope; while being led by a chain through the dungeon halls, he overhears a familiar voice. Looking in a nearby door, he finds the voice belongs to none other than Zane! Overjoyed, he briefly converses with him while Karloff covers for his stop. When the former metal-master asks about his meeting, Cole replies that he was making a plan and friends, ensuring that Chen was about to find out the result of a separated team finding its way back together. As if by coincidence, he says this as Nya and Dareth near the shorelines of Chen's island.
