A Mermaid was a creature that lived in water. Mermaids were known to be seen in the lake at Hogwarts. They were known to have had grayish skin and red hair. Some Mermaids in the Great Lake were a part of the Second Triwizard Task that Harry Potter participated in.
The tail piece for the merpeople-minifigures reappeared as part of the mermaid-figurehead of 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty.
