Message Boards

Years:	2001 - Present

The LEGO Message Boards are an official forum on LEGO.com, in which fans may discuss LEGO-related topics online. Since the forum is intended to be safe for children, all posts are reviewed by moderators before becoming public. Users must have a LEGO ID to be able to post. On November 2, 2012, the Message Boards were updated with new features such as new ranks, badges, and users' separate and individual profiles.

Ranks Edit

Higher ranks can be achieved by posting more. Starting at 48 posts needed, the numbers will approximately double every rank you go up. The following is a list of the old ranks:

Apprentice

Apprentice is the starting rank on the Message Boards. You automatically earn it after you join, but you are not visible to others until you have one post.

Journeyman

Journeyman is earned at 48 posts.

Initiate

Initiate is earned at 95 posts.

JuniorBuilder

JuniorBuilder is earned at 192 posts.

MasterBuilder

MasterBuilder is earned at 384 posts.

Craftsman

Craftsman is earned at 754 posts.

Artisan

Artisan is earned at 1,505 posts.

Inventor

Inventor is earned at 3,009 posts.

Old Timer

Old Timer is earned at 6,017 posts.

Maniac

Maniac is earned at 12,032 posts.

Legend

Legend is earned at 24,064 posts.

New RanksEdit

After the 2012 update, the old ranks were replaced by new ranks. They are achieved by quality not quantity. The only known ranks so far are Caveman, Pharaoh, Spartan Warrior, Gladiator, Roman Soldier, Minotaur, Viking, Samurai Warrior, Knight, Highland Battler, Forestman, Ninja, Aztec Warrior, Conquistador, Jester, Alien, Bandit, Cowboy, Deceive, Pirate, Hippie, Musketeer, Pilot, Spaceman, Rapper, and Royal Guard.

The 1st new rank to achieve.

The 2nd new rank to achieve.

The 3rd new rank to achieve.

The 4th new rank to achieve.

The 5th new rank to achieve.

The 6th new rank to achieve.

The 7th new rank to achieve.

The 8th new rank to achieve.

The 9th new rank to achieve.

The 12th new rank to achieve.

Stud Ranking Edit

On the old LEGO Message Boards, you could see eight studs above the person’s avatar’s head. Some may be yellow, and some may be white. The yellow ones are the ones that the poster has, and the white ones, the ones that they don't have. You gain one of these for having so many posts. What makes these different from the ranks, is that the amount of posts you need goes up as more people gain more posts. Therefore, you get a stud for being in the top so many posters.

The Message Boards were updated in 2005 and were supposed to be updated again in 2011 along with the rest of the LEGO.com website, however, they were not updated until November 2, 2012.
Before 2001, Moderators were trained to view the messages submitted to the Message Boards. In 2011, they trained a new group of moderators and since then, moderation has been much faster.
Charge is seen on the front page in his Deep Freeze outfit.
