Michelangelo Buonarroti is one of the characters in the 2014 film, The LEGO Movie.[1]
Background
Michelangelo was one of the most prominent artists during the Italian Renaissance.
The LEGO Movie
Michelangelo is among the Master Builders that meet in Cloud Cuckoo Land and was seen working on a statue. Vitruvius distinguishes this Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo by pronouncing their names slightly different. The turtle's name is pronounced normally, with a long "I" as in "Mike". Vitruvius pronounces the artist's name with a short "I" as in "Mick". During the final battle against Lord Business' forces, Michelangelo was seen with William Shakespeare riding with Abraham Lincoln on his rocket chair.
Notes
- He is one of only few people in The LEGO Movie that was never put in a set or in 71004 The LEGO Movie Series. This may mean he was a custom minifigure made by either "The Man Upstairs" or Finn.
- He appears along with Abraham Lincoln in a bonus feature for The LEGO Movie's Blu-ray release titled "Michelangelo and Lincoln: History Cops."
- In The LEGO Movie, he is the only Master Builder to never have been caught by Lord Business.
