Makuta Miserix was a character from the BIONICLE storyline that extended from 2001 to 2010. He was a Makuta and the original leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta before he was overthrown by Teridax.

Biography[]

Miserix was the leader of the Brotherhood for thousands of years, during which time Teridax served as his lieutenant and at his direction quelled such violence as the Barraki rebellion and the Matoran Civil War in Metru Nui. He was also responsible for assigning the various Makuta to different regions, such as placing Icarax over the region of Karzahni. Sadly, he was later betrayed by the power-hungry Teridax, who ordered his execution at the hands of Krika and Spiriah. However, Krika secretly imprisoned Miserix on the volcanic island of Artidax, where he remained trapped until he was found by a group of villains assembled by the Order of Mata Nui and led by Brutaka. By this time Miserix had taken on the form of a massive, dragon-like being, and after being freed flew his "rescuers" to Daxia.

Miserix was soon set loose upon the universe and began a rage-driven hunt for Teridax, eventually tracking him to the Core Processor beneath Metru Nui. There he encountered the Toa Hagah, Brutaka, Axonn, Toa Helryx, and Keetongu before discovering that Teridax had taken over the processor. In dealing with the invaders of his new realm, Teridax projected Miserix into an illusion of a two-dimensional mural on one of the walls of the processor, from which he was later freed by the ancient being Tren Krom while in the body of Lewa. A brief battle then ensued between Miserix, Toa Helryx, and Axonn against Tren Krom, Toa Tuyet, and Brutaka, before Artakha arrived to interrupt them and the entire group were then teleported into outer space by Teridax. Vezon then rescued the group and brought them to Bota Magna, where they were brought before an imprisoned Great Being.

Trivia[]

  • Though he was not released as a set, Miserix did receive a physical form as a model created as the winning entry of the Makuta Building Challenge from 2008.
