Ole Kirk Christiansen

Ole Kirk Christiansen (April 7, 1891 – March 11, 1958) was a Danish master carpenter and toymaker, responsible for both founding the LEGO Group and inventing the world-famous Lego bricks. He had a son, who headed LEGO after him: Godtfred Kirk Christiansen. His grandson Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen is the current vice chairman of the board of LEGO. He was chief executive until 2004, when Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, a former McKinsey consultant, became the new head.
