Oliphaunts, also known as Mûmakil, are giant elephant-like creatures that appear in the game LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game. They will also appear in the upcoming LEGO Dimensions video game.
Oliphaunts were huge creatures, resembling oversized elephants originating from within the jungles of Far Harad, often used in battle by the Haradrim. To most cultures, the Oliphaunts were creatures of legend, as fabulous and fearsome as dragons, and to them were ascribed all kinds of strange powers. Oliphaunts resembled elephants, except they had six tusks instead of two: two were on the bottom jaw, two larger tusks were where an elephant's would be, and there were two smaller tusks above those. In The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the Oliphaunts were driven into battle by the Haradrim. They were equipped with spikes that were strung between their tusks so that when they would swing their heads it would cause mass destruction. The Haradrim, along with their Oliphaunts, would have defeated the Rohirrim army, if the Army of the Dead had not arrived.
