Professor Gilderoy Lockhart was the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter's second year. He was a celebrity who had defeated countless monsters and wrote his tales down, which became bestselling books, but he was revealed to be a fruad by Harry and Ron Weasley. He later got amnesia after a backfired memory charm, and became a permanent resident along with Neville Longbottom's parents. He has recollected enough memory to continue answering fan letters, but he will never recover fully. He wrote one last book, titled Who am I?, with a picture of him in a straitjacket.
