- “Didn't see that coming?”
Quicksilver is a Mutant with super-speed. He and his sister Wanda were the half-siblings of Polaris and the kids of Magneto, briefly working in their father's Brotherhood of Mutants out of gratitude to him, but they left Magneto at the first chance and joined Captain America's new roster of Avengers alongside Hawkeye. Despite being a good guy at heart, Pietro can be somewhat arrogant and impatient since everybody moves too slow for him.
Pietro is very protective of his sister and opposed to the idea of Wanda marrying an android, but has come to grudgingly accept it.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Between The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron, Pietro and Wanda are in the clutches of Baron von Strucker, a HYDRA General who gives him super speed as his only of two living test subjects, who intends to use them against the Avengers.
After the Avengers raid the HYDRA fortress and capture Strucker, the twins find a new boss in Ultron. During their clashes with the Avengers, Pietro develops a rivalry with Hawkeye. When Wanda finds out Ultron's genocidal goals, the twins leave him and join the Avengers.
Even after becoming an Avenger, Pietro keeps his rivalry with Clint, with each trying to one-up the other in their heroic efforts.
When trying to save their native town of Sokovia, Pietro dies from Ultron's Quinjet's machine guns, sacrificing himself to save Hawkeye, who subsequently named his newborn son Nathaniel Pietro Barton to honor his fallen comrade.
X-Men Cinematic Universe
In the X-Men universe, Pietro is known as Peter Maximoff. He came into contact with his father Magneto during an attempt to break him out of government custody. Most recently, he has joined his timeline's version of the X-Men.
- His face is similar to Josh Thunder's, but with light nougat coloring, a flip-side expression, and different sideburns.
