In the first season you find that he is just a cruel, evil man! One with no mercy! He is bent on turning Ninjago into his own image, and will do what ever he can to see that this happens, even if it means betraying his own army (the skulkin). However, we find that in the second season, he isn't all that bad. It is here that we learn that the cold-hearted evil lord, never wanted to be evil in the first place. We find out that he has a son, and just how much he loves him. How he can somehow see past all the evil darkening his soul, just for his son. That's fatherly love right there. We find that when Garmadon disappeared through a portal in season one, that he had left to a world of complete and utter darkness.. "A place as wicked as me! Don't you see? Here, I feel at home.." ~Garmadon. There, black magic helped him become stronger, and he grew four arms. His brother, Wu, found him with the help of Traveler's tea. Unfortunately, he had used it all and had no way back to Ninjago. He began fighting Garmadon, until Garmadon learned that the real reason he had come was to warn him of his son's predicament. Caring for his son, Garmadon decided not to kill his brother, and they made their way back to Ninjago on a long, dangerous journey. Throughout the rest of the season, Garmadon helps the ninja (although he does enjoy annoying Kai) with the Fang Blades, in order to eventually find his son. In the end, he reunites with his son (even if it was only for a while), is torn when he finds that Lloyd is the Green Ninja, destined to defeat him, and eventually gets his revenge on the Great Devourer for biting him all those years ago. In the third season (or really, the last half of the second season), Garmadon is the main villain along with the Overlord. He joins the serpentine, who are eventually locked underground. He creates the megaweapon, uses it to help him stop the ninja, but in the end t's destroyed. Then he finds the Dark Island, after being pushed off of a helicopter and almost drowning in the ocean. There he meets the Overlord, who, he doesn't know, is going to betray him. The Overlord tricks him into starting the celestial clock, which counts down to the Final Battle. He faces many hardships with family, but after using the Garmatron to turn all of Ninjago evil, the Overlord possess him and takes over. Although it may seem as he is now lost forever, he isn't. His son defeats the Overlord in an epic battle of good and evil, and in the process, Garmadon is restored to his normal self, and all the evil is gone. Happy ending for Garmadon, happy ending for all.
