[edit] Background

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a theme released as part of the Star Wars theme in 2008 to coincide with the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and TV series. The first wave of sets (7673 - 7681) was released on July 26, 2008. The sets 7751, 7752, and 8014 - 8019 were released early in December 2008 in the US and in January 2009 everywhere else. The rest were released in August 2009. In August 2009, a new online game, The Quest for R2-D2, is was released on Lego.com. There was a demo up on Lego.com leading up to the release of the game. Many clone troopers are sold, since many sets contain at least one. More set releases are to be determined, though. Most sets have been seen in the TV series.

[edit] Co-Packs

From Comic-Con, there's Comic-Con Exclusive Clone Wars Set. This set is the only Clone Wars co-pack. It introduced Captain Rex, and the newer Phase I clone troopers.

[edit] Mini sets

Quite a few mini sets have been released. The newest ones are promotionals, 30005 and 30006. Although technically they aren't mini sets, they fall under no other category.

[edit] Keychains and magnets

Popular accesories have been released, with the magnet minifigures removable. Keycahins are also sold based on Clone Wars characters in Lego.

[edit] UCS

10195 Republic Dropship with AT-OT is the only UCS set released for this subtheme. However, more Ultimate Collectors sets for Clone Wars are to be determined.

[edit] Online

Online is the Quest for R2-D2! It is the first Lego Clone Wars game released on the computer.

[edit] Minifigures

The new Anakin Skywalker minifigure for The Clone Wars has bigger eyes than the normal versions and features a new hairpiece as well.
The new version of Count Dooku illustrates that the new minifigures have more angular facial features.

The minifigures included in Clone Wars sets had a design that reproduced the look of the characters in the animated series. They featured more angular lines on their faces as well as bigger eyes, in contrast to the minifigures from other Star Wars sets that were closer to standard minifigures. But just like all recent minifigures from licensed themes, the Clone Wars figures featured flesh-colored skin. The pieces of the Clone Trooper armor were changed in the same fashion, making them considerably different from the Phase I clones of non-Clone Wars sets. The droids however, were the same as in other SW sets.
