Stormtroopers are Lego Minifigures based on the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars movies. The Imperial Stormtroopers were the nameless, faceless minions of the Galactic Empire. After the Old Republic was announced an Empire, the Clone troopers were reorganzied into Stormtroopers. The Clones were given new armor and soon non-cloned humans were allowed to join the Stormtrooper ranks. Stormtroopers have been featured a wide variety of sets in the Star Wars Theme, and have been redesigned with more detail or fixed details often. The next set a Stormtrooper will most probably appear is the 8087 TIE Defender. Stormtroopers have appeared in Two out of the three Lego Star Wars Video Games.

[edit] Variations

Although the standard Stormtrooper looks almost the same in every set they have been released in, over the years, they have been slightly redesigned more than once. Also, the helmet has been changed three times.

One of those variations appeared in the 7264 Imperial Inspection set, where they had more detailed shinplates. In the set, 7264 Imperial Inspection, it featured 4 troopers with previously unused Leg detail, having increased Ammo Belt detail and knee pads over the usual blank legs.

There are currently three variations of the Lego Stormtrooper helmets: One with two nose lines split into halves, the second with single black nose line, and the third most recent - a thick, gray nose line with small black lines. Their eyes have also grown gradually throughout the years.

In 2009, a special edition silver Stormtrooper was released as a magnet set to commemorate 10 years of Star Wars LEGO.

The TIE Defender is an upcoming Star Wars set scheduled to be released in 2010, and it will include a Stormtrooper minifigure.
