Chicken Suit Guy! Can't believe I've never thought of that :P
Cylops and battle mech sound like interesting figs
Apparently Dr. Splitz is an oragutan in a space suit from Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys. I'm guessing this is just a placeholder name, and it'll just be called something like "Space Monkey"
Overall, this is shaping up to be one of my favourite series
Hm....after thinking about it for some time, here are my thoughts...
Alien Trooper: Another alien. Seriously Lego, anything else? However, if it is true, I hope for a new molded head and a new piece to attach between the torso and the head.
Chicken suit guy: Very interesting! Chima's eagle helmet may as well make it's debut here! What is the asseorssry though? An egg? XD
Maid Marion: Not quite sure what this is...I presume it is a medival maid. I hope for a new hairpiece and she could carry a basket?
Heroic Knight: After the debut of an Evil Knight in S8, I shouldhave known that Lego would release a Heroic Knight! I hope for the same sword, very detailed printing on the armor, shield, and helmet(if any). Might introduce a hairpiece+helmet combo piece.
Cyclops: Hm....interesting one....have some army building potential, along with the Knight. Is the head a original minifigure head, or is it a new one? Holding a club I think.
Mermaid: Should be very similiar to the POTC mermaids....so I don't really see any room for changes, except printing of course. But if it is a MALE MERMAID, it would be really different then......
Fortune Teller: Nice try Lego! Unique, never released before! I would be expecting a crystal ball, a shroud, and something like Professer Twalnly from Harry Potter. (Not sure how I spell her name...)

S8? Really? With all the remakes?

Male Mermaids = Mermen, so if it was male, I'm pretty sure they'd say Merman :)
But I agree, I can't see it being too different from the POTC ones (luckily for me I don't have them :) )

S8 charmed me with a few nice things, as someone who didn't get s2 or much chance with s1 (even though I was in Germany at the time), I didn't get many of these figs.
Roller Derby Girl: The only minifigure related to sports....I hope for new roller skates, nothing else. What's left to add?
Judge: Something that everyone has been waiting for! Graduate's robe maybe, new wig with a hammer?
Battle Mech: Quite confusing, this. The first thing that comes into my mind would be something like Samurai Mech, which is too big. Perhaps it is a robot or droid of some sort with a new armor piece?
Caesar: Roman emperor! Ingenious! Would be expecting wreath + hair combo piece, scroll, wine glass and a new fabric piece to represent the robe, or it could simply be done by printing.
Downtown Cop: Another policemen? I hope that it would be different from the City ones, the Forest police in particular.
Plumber: Similar to Mechanic. The tool box, and some tools, I would really like to see something unique in this minifigure, but I can't think of any.
Waiter: Wearing a tux, formal(like me!), serving tray with glasses, dishes etc...Like to see a new hairpiece though. New pretzel piece could also be included.
Hollywood Starlet: No mention of the gender of this minifigure. If it is a lady, I would be expecting a new dress piece, holding a trophy maybe? If it is a gentleman, a tux, very formal, and also a trophy form S8.
Waiter: Wearing a tux, formal(like me!), serving tray with glasses, dishes etc...Like to see a new hairpiece though. New pretzel piece could also be included.
Or the pretzel piece could be the same as the Lederhosen Guy's.

I think that is what he meant. That piece is still pretty new.

The Chicken Suit Guy has been found! Thanks, NBS!
This one is not as good as splitz or the alien imo, what would made him better is if they gave him a printed torso. And is he re-using the diver head from series 8?
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Constable in S11 will be a British Bobby, something I thought would have been done sooner. I'll speculate we may see a Canadian Mountie in another upcoming series. Can't wait for them to come out and S10 looks like being my new favourite series

You know, when I first read that WhiteFang got his box on BrickSet, I did not agree with Huw at all and was surprised he even suggested what he said, but after seeing the series, I agree. None of the concepts which interested me were really executed well, and I'm not happy about the new distribution either.

Nah, you know most of them are actually amazing! Series 9 has multiple "Insta-Favs" like the Heroic Knight.
Some of those seem like really good ideas, but still a few just seem like rehashes (and the fact I can say that without actually owning any minifigures just shows how lazy some feel). That being said, things like the Cyclops and Judge are well pulled off.

I believe that it is because the Heroic Knight, Policeman, Cyclops, and Alien Avenger are more sort of 'army builders'. The Judge, Mermaid, Emperor, Dr. Splitz, Chicken Suit Guy and Mech could still be 'army builder', but not as much. However, the Roller Derby Girl, Hollywood Starlet, Plumber, Fortune Teller, and Waiter are more of a 'one-off' thing. However, the Forest Girl is an army builder, but is quite rare... LEGO's ploy to buy more?
Alien Trooper--Well, this minifigure is one of the few that surfaced online before the actual release, so it isn't really a surprise. However, about the figure, the reuse of the Galaxy Patrol's armor is welcome.

Chicken Suit Guy: Another figure released before third of December. Quite disappointed with the lack of front printing of the figure, could have printed feathers or something at least. The helmet is interestingly designed and the 'wings' are quite a nice surprise too.
Maid Marion: I'm having mixed feelings with the hairpiece. It is detailed, but a little too detailed. I suppose that doesn't matter anyway. Very similar to Elf in terms of accessories. Overall, I don't really like/collect medieval themes/things, so I will most likely not buy it.
Heroic Knight: Well, well, what have we here? The Heroic Knight is not a surprise to me at all. All of the Knights released over the years are quite similar really. Might be getting it for the helmet which I missed and the new sword which I (think) might be also available in the Kingdoms Chess set.
Cyclops: The first impression it gave me when I saw it's back view is that the head looks like the exact same thing as the bulbous helmet from the Diver. That impression has not changed. However, when you look at it from the front, it looks...ok. The idea of the eye printed on a minifigure head is interesting too. The club in the new color is also appealing.
Mermaid: I expected it to be a splitting image of the POTC mermaids, and it turned out true. Not interested at all, no offence.
Fortune Teller: It turned out better than I thought! The hairpiece is certainly unique in its own way but I find the lack of a crystal ball disappointing. A crystal ball is the 'trademark' of a fortune teller after all...reminds me of Simza from Sherlock Holmes 2...
Dr. Splitz: Now, what's that about a intergalactic monkey? :P Anyway, Mr Good and Evil is a great addition to the minifigure community and the Monster team is MF! Being the first minifigure to be revealed, it has left a great impression in my mind. The purple flask is a wonderful piece and I will be getting multiples if possible. :)
Series 9 looks amazing. Gonna have to get 10 Battle Mech to compliment Galaxy Squad xD. While Series 10 and 11 look like total garbage. No offence or anything but I hope these aren't real.
I am finally going to compile my thoughts on these series.
Alien Avenger: This figure is pretty good, but I don't like the reuse of the Galaxy Patrol armor. It makes it feel less desirable to me. It just feels like a repaint. I would have preferred something a bit more unique or retro.
'Mr. Good and Evil: This one is good too and one of my favorites of the series, but I have little use for him and he is easily skip able. I can't wait to see him in some MF MOCs though.
Chicken Suit Guy: I almost really like this one, but I despise it. It needs torso printing. I am sure it would be simple and probably even look bad, but they copped-out and I do not like that.
Heroic Knight: A good addition to the fantasy castle era, but it doesn't interest me. Again, I do look forward to seeing him lead legions of crown knights against skeletons and goblins.
Forest Maiden" I like the idea of this figure, but the hair is too detailed and the dress does not feel detailed enough. Despite this, I would consider going out for her if she was not so rare. I do have a (cheap repaint of) the original forest maiden to get me through the night though.
Hollywood Starlet: I don't know what it is about this one. I really want to like it, but something is just off. Maybe it is the dress, again.
Waiter: Unfortunately, this is my favorite. I like just about everything about this figure. I just wish his head came in flesh and he would make the perfect Alfred substitute. He really is not a must have though, like most city-themed figs.
Roman Emperor: I am glad they made this one, but I just do not like it. The only thing I find desirable is that scroll.
Cyclops: This one has grown on me since I first saw it, but I still do not want it. The color choice bothers me. He really should be yellow.
Mermaid: This one is pretty good, but like the forest maiden, I am not interested in tracking her down, even though I think she is one of the more common ones. If I ever have come across a box of these though and have the money, if I look for anyone, it would probably be her.
Policeman: Oh good, just what I needed.... Even if he is a lot better than most of the City figs, it is just another new officer in another new uniform.
Roller Derby Girl: She has some desirable parts, but I do not care for the figure. I am sure that we will get a "Roller Skating Guy" in a few series, so I will just wait until then (though since I probably won't have money, I bet I will skip that one too :P).
Fortune Teller: I really want to like this one, but I can't. The minifigure is good, but something is off. I think it is the face, but that can be swapped out easily.
Judge: This one doesn't interest me, as I have no use for a judge (kangaroo courts are much more interesting), but I think the face is off again. I am sure there is some pirate or castle face that will look loads better, though. His eyes look blank and creepy....
Plumber: Other than not being one of my favorites and not looking like Alfred, I feel the same way about this guy as the waiter.
Sea Captain: Good figure, but per above (as in, about the plumber).
Sad Clown: I actually really love this one. <3
Female Scientist: This one is good too. The colors look nice and she has a good personality and part usage (as in, good hairpiece).
Grandpa: That forehead piece is...odd. I need to reserve judgement on this one, but sans the head extension, he looks good.
Bumblebee Girl: A good addition to the animal-costume characters, but she seems only meh as far as they go (which is not very far IMO).
Roman Commander: Much better than the emperor and whatever it was we had in series 6, IMO.
Warrior Woman: Not bad, but I do not have much to praise. One of the "meh" ones.
Tomahawk Warrior: Pretty good, but not must have.
Trendsetter: I hate the figure, but the idea is pulled off so well that I also love it. :P
Baseball fielder: Meh
Revolution Soldier: Meh, good pirate addition though. I'd like to see something similar in its next incarnation....
Biker: (motorcycle mechanic just does not work...) just okay, but one of the better okay ones.
Medusa: Something is off. I can't wait for her hairpiece(?) to be added to LDD though so I can play around with it.
Skydiver: Boring
Paintball Player: Good personality, but not a must-have.
Decorator: It looks like the plumber with a new hat plus bleached and stained clothing. Another boring one. I really am not a fan of city figures in these series unless they have a lot of personality, which it feels they rarely do.
Though we have not seen it, series 11 sound interesting. but there are few I actually want just by hearing the names. Heck, the only one I do want from hearing the names is the welder. I need a Dogwelder fig more than Green Lantern (so that is every DC hero other than Nightwing, Batgirl, and Flash)! D:
They have different eyebrows, but the expression is mostly the same. Eyebrows have nothing to do with the expression, other than how they move, they are part of the visage. I did not say they had the same visage or face. I said they have the same expression. ":D" essentially.
Edit:I missed that you were replying to Soupperson. I didn't see her post.

Hey, is there another topic about series 10 which I kind find?
Anyways, I wanted to ask you guys about your oppinion before changing something:
Officially Series 10 still only has 16 minifigures with Mr. Gold being an exceptional addition and not an real part of the series. The article about series 10 should make that clearer in my oppinion.
Also they have been released now, so shouldn't the release date be changed to "late April 2013"?
