Why is chat gone?

I have not been on Brickipedia, now I finaly return, and... chat is gone! I would like to know why chat is removed, and like to protest about it. I thought chat was a good way to talk to people here, having privacy with "Private Messages". I also think it is quicker to chat then on the talk page. Whatever reason chat is removed, it has to be a good reason.
