Another day, another rant: Ya'll taken me for granted

Where do I begin? It's not so much having competition and I don't blame Legoindy (for this), but I am really sick of the comments my customs blog is attracting. I do work hard to make those figures and all I get are comments that make me think they are taken for granted. Things like saying "all okay" or always asking for more. I don't like people coming up with a long list of characters I've hardly ever heard of or even worst, continuously requesting characters I have already said I'm not going to do.

It's not like I'm not taking requests at all but I don't like taking whole lists from people or being repeatedly told who I should do when I've already said no. And would it kill people to say please? Looking through my blog in almost 400 comments, most of which are requests just say you should make... (which is very rude, mind you). Nobody likes being told what to do, and though saying should technically is making a suggestion, it's also more or less telling me what I have to do. It's a command. I don't owe you or anyone anything. I ranted about how we are a whiny community just a couple days ago and this was part of how I came to notice that. Nothing is ever good enough. You are never satisfied. I think that you should just be happy I made so and so and so (even though her breasts aren't hanging out) and so and so and...

But then I go over to the "rival" blog and people are drooling over the figures which honestly (and sorry) are kind of messy. They're still much better than most of the other customs here and I'd hate to see him stop, but looking through the comments I see nothing but focusing on the positives and if any criticism, it's constructive (with the exception of a certain somebody insisting on seeing more of Star Sapphire). Yes, I'm jealous. But you are being grateful that he is making figures. I'm sure it'll stop and I'll feel all too sorry for Legoindy when it does.

There are some people polite enough to actually say something of substance of course (or almost as good, nothing at all), but most people just aren't grateful. I'm not expecting worship or anything long, but I can't stand when I work for days on a batch and all I get are "and <insert character here>..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................i shouldnt even say." That is really offensive considering that figure took me almost two hours and you didn't even bother to tell me what was wrong with it.

Not as bad, but this "More, more, more..." attitude it also annoying and even more disrespectful, if anything. I already said that I didn't want to make that particular character to you several times. Continuing to plead for me some very minor Flash character or whoever who nobody has ever heard of really gives me a headache.

Not only have people been rude, but they have taken advantage of my work and used it as their own. There is one guy who is actually stealing the designs and selling them without even contacting me first. And then there are several instances where they show up in other users' customs and only once have I been asked (by Jedi master sith nonetheless, if you were wondering). Though I can deal with this in addition to everything else it makes it all very more stressful and just shows how much more of an ungrateful lot some of you are.

I wouldn't consider it a talent, but I will admit I was hurt when Legoindy started a rival blog. It felt like he was saying that anyone could do it. And though it isn't wrong, it still hurts. He didn't say that though, so it was fine at first. But then he said that one of my figures wasn't very good (even though it was one of my least favorites too, but I still took a bit of offense) and that he was trying to make a better version of the character. That's not wrong, but he used my torso and called it perfect. That's nice, other than the fact that he didn't ask, but then he said that the reason was because mine was perfect and his would be just as good so there was no point in trying. Now that hurts.

I don't see my figures as perfect, far from actually, but the fact that someone else sees their own work that way without anything to show for it just makes me mad. Confidence may be what allows you to begin and go on, but it shouldn't be that high or the reason you continue. It's what allows you to continue. In unrelated events, my confidence already has been low but I've continued with my work, but now it's even lower. It's not wrong to say that you don't like ______ but having my work compared to some rip off really does. And on top of that, you add the comment with an overlong ellipse as an afterthought and my hand goes into the choking position.

I guess I just feel misunderstood and like some people don't think I need compliments of substance and peace of mind nor do they seem to realize that I have a life and opinions. If I said that I don't like _____ then what does that mean? (Since some of you need everything explained:) It means that I'm probably not going to make _____. My work and I are just being taken for granted and most of you regulars fail to understand the attention that does go into my output (which is at an all-time high, but still not good enough). I know that paint isn't a good program, but I am usually proud of the (pixil-y) arrangement of pixels and how it resembles the embroidery on so and so's costumes.

Now I'll do my best to summarize since I'm running out of things to complain about without going into it a third or fourth time. Just be grateful I make the figures. I'd prefer you say nothing to "all r ok," actually say why you don't like ____ (if at all), and stop comparing me to others. I already do that enough to myself and it's not healthy. I don't need you ungrateful "..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................i shouldnt even say," comparing work that I really put my heart into. I have a different style than Legoindy. Appreciate that both are different or don't even bother commenting on either blog. Sorry, it seems I found something else to complain about.

Okay, I'll try to summarize again. Stop being such ungrateful pigs. Have some respect and compassion. You might not realize it, but the little (and big) things you do really make me angry. If you can't say anything of substance, don't say anything at all. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. If you can't say anything without you comparing me to so and so, don't say anything at all. This is what makes us such a terrible community, the lack of understanding and forethought. Others and myself have done it before and will do it again I'm sure. We have pleaded that you use one of the ironically least applied skills on the wiki: Use common sense.

Now to finish this off, one of my favorite quotes:

"Words have both the power to destroy and heal. When words are both kind and true, they can change our world"
―The Buddha

Though what The Buddha is saying is certainly true, it's also common sense and looking on the bright side of things. When words are rude and/or false, they can also change our world. Just to keep me from having to explain this later according to World English Dictionary, world can also mean "...any field of human activity or way of life or those involved in."

Oh, and please keep in mind that this may not be targeted at you. I probably (had) exaggerated the number of people who are guilty.

With the popularity of the Friends rant, if this does well enough I'm considering making this Another day, another rant thing an ongoing series. It'll be good for you, most of you do need it. And who better than "da rant-masta!"?
