As a 'Hobbit Trilogy Special Preview Set' , LEGO the Hobbit 79004 Barrel Escape, formally known as Escape in the Barrels, has made its debut online as a video that bears resemblance to the Designer Videos. In the video, Senior Designer Bjarke Lykke Madsen showcases the features of Barrel Escape, his latest model, the five minifigures included, four which are exclusive to the set. Features include toppling barrels and exploding prison doors. The set places emphasis on the underground setting of the scene in the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which is illustrated in the set using earth colours and the use of detailed and large arches.
