A Review of 2011

Note: Not all users have been credited in this blog and not all users have a comment from me, I'll try my best over the next few days to write comments for as many users as possible, it's taken me over 3 hours of non-stop typing to type this.

This year we have had our ups and downs with the community etc… However we have achieved so much this year. For example we now have over 18,000 articles! We are becoming a more active wiki by the month as new users join us and help us in improving Brickipedia.

My background[]

When I joined Brickipedia back in July 2010 I never knew I would get this far. In the space of one and a half years I have become a Patroller, a Rollback an Administrator and now, a Bureaucrat. I never thought that I would get over 2-3 thousand edits in my entire time at Brickipeida, but I have. I have made a total of over 10,000 edits here at Brickipedia! But I've benefited so much from Brickipedia, not only have I learnt more about LEGO, but I've learnt new skills such as HTML, CSS, JS and Wiki mark-up coding!

Anyway, enough about me, more about the community.

"This year was probably the biggest loss for Bricki yet. Last year we lost some great users like LegOtaku but this year we lost a lot of kind, friendly, helpful and overall fantastic editors. I've been semi-active lately here, but during my time here I've seen a lot of hard-working commitment to this site. I met some great users this year such as CGCJ and Prisinorzero and many more, saw some awesome friends get renames (Nerf and King -_-) and finally got to know some users around here (Cligra, SKP and others). This goes out to all the users here, thanks for being friendly and hard-working. It's been a pleasure working with you. Now if I could get at least one or two mentions that'd be great! :)"

"This year was eventful, in the plainest of terms. Some users showed their true colors, some users earned their metal. There was disgrace, and then there was prestige. We've had our lowest days, and we've had our highest days. Many of us had disagreements early in the year, but it cooled down, and we knew some from of peace. Despite the low points, Brickipedia still runs as it should. The information is up to date, the new users are welcomed by those of us who remain from last year, and the wiki continues to grow. I'm very happy that I got to be a part of this amazing wiki. We all love LEGOs, and we can do anything if we set our mind to it."

"2011 has been a good year. We have gained many more articles, and some great users. We passed 18000 articles this year. Some great users that signed up this year include Francesco Mondada, Zaersk, and Mr. Minifigure. We've had a large increase in the number of bots; and I think that's great. More bots to do work means that users are freed up to do work that bots can't do, like creating complex articles. NHL is often forgotten about now, after five years of non-stop service to Brickipedia. He was the one along with another user who I've forgotten (sorry :( ) who saved this Wiki and made it stand on its legs. Without them, Brickipedia would not be the Wiki it is today.
