AAAHHHH! I Won the LEGO DARK TURTLE at New York Comic Con 2012!! Woohoo! How awesome is that!?! As a HUGE LEGO fan and Collector-I'd still call myself a novice collector, it's such an amazing feeling to win not only such a RARE Minifig, but such a HISTORICAL one as well! This is the first Minifigure EVER released from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles LEGO Line!

Also cool since I was a huge fan of TMNT since I was a little kid! :D

I don't know how many of these were made, but I'm assuming it's close to the 300 Krang's they made. I feel this figure is RARER than the exclusive KRANG since it had to be WON. If I knew about the Krang giveaway, I would have gone to LEGO in Rockafeller Center ASAP. Since I was in NYC for the weekend! What a weird coincidence.

I don't even live in NYC. I planned on going there to visit my brother two weekends after my birthday, it just so happened he asked me what I wanted to do and I said, Comic Con! And we went! I got ONE raffle ticket, and only ONE cause I was bummed out about not being able to get there early enough to get an exclusive Luke Skywalker (I only really collect Star Wars LEGOS). I got the Boba Fett from Star Wars Celebration VI, which was my first ever Con, so I felt I needed to get the Luke from this Con to start a tradition of getting the exclusives at future Cons. Looks like winning this Dark Turtle continues the tradition! Woot! I didn't even make my brother go get a raffle ticket, or go up multiple times throughout the day (HONEST) like I'm sure hundreds of people did, as I found out. I had one lonely ticket (077738, yes I remember my number!) and I cannot believe I won. I went back and checked the board on a whim believing the whole time: "There's no way I'll win, look at all those scattered losing tickets on the ground, there must be thousands!".

Guess good things do come to those who wait, like my mom always said.. :)

I got hundreds of offers for it right away, surrounded by a swarm of people. I can see how highly sought after this Minifig is. I even had offers to trade Krang for him! No way.. as I said, it may not be, but I feel this one is more valuable since it was won. Also now, it has a huge personal significance to me now since it's the first raffle I've EVER won! It earned it's place front and center on my bookcase between LEGO Qui-Gon, the Mos Eisley Cantina with Han and Greedo, and Vader's Transformaton with Vader and Anakin...my favorites :}.

Anyone know how many of these were produced and/or given out?
