Appearances

Vakama is a minifigure from BIONICLE, included in 2005 playsets. The minifigure was a moulded, minifigure scaled version of Toa Hordika Vakama from the BIONICLE theme. This version of Vakama was present in the Web of Shadows storyline.

He is also listed as Part 51637.

Background

Vakama was once a humble mask maker who found the masks of the Toa and became one of the Toa. They helped save Metru Nui from the Makuta and disappeared. Vakama and the other Toa Metru then returned to Metru Nui to rescue the remaining population of the still sleeping Matoran. However, they were captured by the proud, self-proclaimed ruler of Metru Nui, Sidorak, and his malevolent vortix queen, Roodaka. They were then suspended in web cocoons and mutated by Hordika Venom into the Toa Hordika. Later, Vakama struggled to accept his new changes and joins the queen Roodaka. Roodaka's plot, however, was to awaken the evil Makuta Teridax from the prison that the Toa Metru previously imprisoned him in. Vakama was then given control over the Visorak Horde that was Sidorak's army, and engaged in a one one one duel with Matau, his previous Toa brother. Matau was defeated, hanging by one hand over the tower balcony of the Coliseum. He then convinced Vakama to return to the good side before plummeting down into the battle between the Rahaga and Toa Hordika against the Visorak. Vakama, however, rescued Matau and they then joined with the other Toa against Roodaka. Matau and the other Toa then fired their Rhotuka Spinners at Roodaka, who had the fragment of Makuta's prison in place of her heartlight. Vakama then also shot Roodaka, freeing Makuta in the process. He was then, along with his fellow Toa, returned to their original form of Toa Metru by Keetongu. They then took the remaining Matoran to the new sanctuary home of Mata Nui, leaving Keetongu and the Rahaga to watch over Metru Nui. Mata Nui was named after the Great Spirit, Creator of the Universe and leader of the Order of Mata Nui.
